Katy Perry gets a pop art makeover as Elizabeth Taylor while Dakota Johnson channels a modern day Aphrodite in leather catsuit for Harper’s Bazaar's icons shoot
She's one of the most famous stars on the planet and is idolised by millions.
But Katy Perry was channeling a heroine of her very own in the September issue of Harper's Bazaar magazine, starring in a Fashion Icons themed shoot as screen siren Elizabeth Taylor.
The creative spread, masterminded by magazine's global fashion director Carine Roitfeld, also features Fifty Shades Of Grey actress Dakota Johnson as a modern day re-imagining of Greek goddess Aphrodite.

Posing for legendary photographer Jean-Paul Goude, Katy channels Liz in a chic black dress and wavy brunette bob in the Andy Warhol inspired image.
The 30-year-old singer's pop art picture was given a punky, modern twist, with heavy blue eye shadow, a bright red lip and a nose ring.
Speaking about why she chose the late actress as her ultimate idol, Katy said: 'An icon transcends time.

'Liz was so fabulous and decadent and had a style that evolved with the years. And I'm sure I'll be married just as many times.'
Meanwhile, Dakota slipped into a leather catsuit and donned a long, flowing wig to embody an unconventional version of the goddess of love, Aphrodite.
The 25-year-old actress was drenched with water as she glided along on a skateboard.
'In Greek mythology, Aphrodite is the primary image of feminine divine love,' Dakota explained.
'To me, she embodies the power of love and pleasure, and represents the mystery and intricacy of women.'
The visually stunning also features Oprah Winfrey as Glinda the Good Witch from The Wizard Of Oz, Mariah Carey as Marie Antoinette, Willow Smith as Hindu goddess Kali and cover star Rosie Huntington as fashion maven Diana Vreeland.
Explaining why she wanted to pose as the controversial French queen, Mariah said: 'I’m pretty much the opposite of Marie Antoinette, but it’s always fun to throw on a costume.'
Icons by Carine Roitfeld and Jean-Paul Goude appears in the September issue of Harper's Bazaar, on sale 4th August.
