A group of mainland Chinese tourists have been detained by police for allegedly attacking the ground crew of a flight bound for the countryís capital after their plane was delayed for several hours.
According to reports coming from Hong Kong International Airport, six tourists from the Chinese mainland ñ three men and three women ñ were arrested for physically assaulting seven crew members of their Beijing-bound flight.
Reports said the Hong Kong Airlines flight had been delayed for more than six hours, angering the tourists, aged between 21 and 42, who took out their frustrations on the ground crew at around 2.30am local time.
Three men and four women from the airlinesí ground staff were taken to North Lantau Hospital for treatment of minor injuries as a result of the altercation.
A Hong Kong Airlines spokeswoman said: "The flight was delayed because of air traffic control in Beijing."
She continued: "A woman from the gro
