She has credited her two young daughters with helping her cope with the sudden death of her father Antony last year.

And Nicole Kidman was accompanied by Sunday Rose, seven and four-year-old Faith, at LAX on Wednesday.

The 48-year-old actress - who is married to Keith Urban - carried Faith in her arms while keeping a close eye on Sunday Rose as the trio made their way through the terminal.

Nicole was left devastated when her father, psychologist and biochemist Dr. Antony Kidman, died suddenly last September and admitted she still feels very raw.

Asked about their close relationship, the Paddington star said: 'You've caught me at a time when I'm still recovering and in grief. There are times you go, 'Gosh, I wish I could just go and hide in a hole and never come out.' And then you go, 'That was yesterday.''

And they're off: Nicole and her family live in Nashville but spend a great deal of time in both Sydney and LA

But Nicole said her young daughters were responsible for helping her to get over his death and focus on the present.

She told the August issue of US Vogue magazine: 'Just hearing their laugh . . . it's life in its most powerful form.'

And Nicole also revealed that she wishes she had met Keith, 47, earlier in life so they could have had more children together.

She said: 'I wish I could have met him much earlier and had way more children with him. But I didn't. I mean, if I could have had two more children with him, that would have been just glorious. But as Keith says, 'The wanting mind, Nicole. Shut it down.''

Nicole also has two adopted children, Connor and Isabella, with her former husband Tom Cruise.

The children have been raised as Scientologists like their father and she is believed to have little contact with them.

Meanwhile, Nicole may have been married to Keith for nine years but she is still madly in love.

Speaking about a recent date night where he took part in an impromptu jam session, she said: 'I looked up at him at one point and I saw his tattoos and his foot going, and he had the guitar, and I was like, "God, I love that man. I'm so glad I'm in this world."'

Meanwhile, Nicole was also spotted hard at work in LA on Wednesday.

The actress wowed in a chic black lace dress as she filmed a commercial downtown.

Nicole, who lives in Nashville with Keith and their daughters, appeared in high spirits, laughing and joking with the crew as she sipped on a cool drink between takes.
