Demi Lovato 'is devastated after finding her dog mauled to death by a coyote in backyard of her LA home' as she posts heartfelt tribute 

Demi Lovato has been left 'devastated' after finding her dog Buddy mauled to death by a coyote on Sunday.

According to TMZ, the Heart Attack singer found her pet - which was given to her in December by 34-year-old boyfriend Wilmer Valderrama - in the backyard of her Tarzana, California mansion.

The 22-year-old singer took to Twitter on Tuesday to reveal her heartache. 'We are absolutely heartbroken to be writing this but Wilmer and I are devastated to inform you that we lost our little angel Buddy last Sunday,’ she said in the moving tribute.

‘He was taken from us way too soon in a tragic accident,' she started.

'And though I will never know why this had to happen, I do know that God only puts us through situations that we can handle so with that, together we our staying strong.’

Demi had filled her Instagram account with photos of the white pooch.

The dog was given to the singer on December 16, and she said she was thrilled to receive her four legged friend. 

The singer continued in her sad post: ‘We have incredible people around us and so much love and support which is holding us up in this time of need.

‘Buddy was loved by so many people and as small as he was, he made a huge impact in our lives.

‘He truly was human in a way and we were so blessed to have him in our lives,' the former Disney star added.

Demi posted a photo of Buddy on Instagram last Sunday, and did not comment on the picture.

However a friend put the message: 'Rest in peace sweet little munchkin. Wait for Demi at the rainbow bridge. we love you and miss you so much.’

It was the indication that the singer had tragically lost her beloved pet.

Many of her followers posted supportive messages to Demi on the photos of her pooch on her account, offering words of support and kindness as he mourned the loss of Buddy. 

The singer, who has just released a raunchy video for her latest track Cool For The Summer, finished her tribute saying: ‘We ask you that you please respect our privacy while we take this time to grieve and remember the magical moments we spent with our little angel.

‘We will never forget our baby boy Buddy and his gentle loving spirit will live on in our hearts forever.

‘RIP my tiniest little nightingale, Buddy.’
