Gisele Bünchen has been accused of misappropriating the burqa by covering up in the traditional Muslim veil for women in a failed attempt to evade the paparazzi as she checked into a plastic surgery clinic in Paris earlier this month.

While not one inch of the recently-retired supermodel's world-famous looks were visible under the head-to-toe black garment, she was given away by her longtime chauffeur.

Just a day before the chauffeur dropped two women in burqas off at the Clinique du Parc Monceau, Gisele was seen elsewhere in Paris with her driver of at least five years.

After: Sources tell the New York Post that Gisele underwent an $11,000 double operation to address concerns with her eyes and breasts

Sources tell the New York Post that the two women who posed as devout Muslims were in fact Gisele and her sister Rafaela, who underwent overnight plastic surgery procedures on July 15.

However, the Bündchen sisters clearly didn't do their research on the culture, as one of the women was spotted wearing open-toed sandals, something strict Muslim women are prohibited from wearing.

Additionally, France has banned the wearing of burqas in public spaces since 2010.

The former Victoria's Secret Angel allegedly had operations on her eyes and breasts, which she was concerned had sagged after two pregnancies, according to the Post.

The sources said the procedures cost $11,000 for Gisele, and were meant as a 35th birthday and retirement present to herself.

The day after dropping the two women off at the clinic, Gisele's chauffeur was pictured returning and picking up the women, taking them back to the Bristol Hotel.

The women then packed and left the hotel again - this time for a five-day retreat to the exclusive Les Sources de Caudalie spa.

On Friday, following the spa trip, Gisele and her sister were pictured walking around Charles de Gaulle airport on their way out of Paris.

News of the undercover operation comes just one day after the NFL decided to uphold a suspension against Gisele's husband, New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady.

Brady will be suspended for four games for his role in the Deflategate scandal.

The family certainly won't be struggling for Brady's time off the field though, as Gisele herself made $47million last year, earning her the title of highest-paid model.

However, Gisele's days of multi-million-dollar paychecks may soon be over, as she decided earlier this year to officially retire from the world of modeling.

'Automatically, my body tells me if what I do is worth it, and it asked to stop,' she told a Brazilian newspaper in April. 'I respect my body; it’s a privilege to be able to stop.'

Daily Mail Online reached out to Bunchen's reps for comment Wednesday morning, but have not heard back.
