At only 24-year-old she'd be forgiven for being a little social media obsessed.

But Dylan Penn is not like most starlets, especially the celebrity offspring variety, as she reveals to ASOS that she is 'painfully shy'.

The daughter of Sean Penn and Robin Wright revealed: 'I'm a really private person and I don't understand the selfie thing. It's such a part of our culture now.

Dylan Penn is the cover story for the latest issue of ASOS magazine and opens up about her

'You're at a party or an event and you're interacting with other people, but there's no shame in getting your camera out and getting your perfect angle. It's bizarre to me.'

She added 'I have a private Instagram and an official one, so I’m not opposed to social media.'

'When you're shy, the worst thing you can do is go into all these casting rooms and be scrutinized. But with shyness, I think you just have to bite the bullet.'

The Condemned actress in fact took to Instagram to reveal her new cover for the fashion publication on Monday, saying 'Look what I found....... The September issue of Asos Magazine @asos drops today! #asosmagazine'

Proud: The blonde beauty posted to Instagram to show her excitement at the September cover

The slender beauty flaunts her toned tummy in a crop top and glittery ripped knee-length shorts in the image where she is seen strolling across a street.

She is covered up in a fur-lined jacket even though the sun beats down on her head, her blonde tresses styled in a centre-parting.

Dylan talks a lot about fashion in the interview, especially the Mario Testino photoshoot she did with her 21-year-old brother Hopper for Vogue's brat pack editorial.

Family time: As well as big names, Dylan also models for her mother Robin Wright's sleepwear collection Pour Les Femmes. She is seen with the 46-year-old actress and her 21-year-old brother Hopper earlier this month

While the blonde beauty has modeled for names such as Gap, Stuart Weitzman and Ermanno Scervino, she also models for her mother's sleepwear brand Pour Les Femmes.

The rising star's real passion, however, is writing - but admits she's not ready to let her mum and dad read her work yet.

'Both my parents are always very honest with me … It’s in a nice way, but they’re not gonna bullsh*t.

‘Everything I've written is so personal and when it’s out there, that’s scary. It’s a dream, but it’s also kind of a nightmare for me.
