And she's off! Princess Eugenie looks polished in a white dress and tailored jacket as she attends Glorious Goodwood ladies' day with boyfriend Jack Brooksbank

  • Princess Eugenie joined racegoers for the third day of the races
  • She opted for a nude colour palette, wearing a white dress and grey jacket
  • The royal ignored the dress codes advice to wear flat shoes
  • Presented Camilla Henderson with the trophy for The Magnolia Cup

Princess Eugenie took a break from her new role at a London art gallery today as she joined racegoers for Glorious Goodwood ladies' day.

The 25-year-old royal was accompanied by her long-term partner Jack Brooksbank for what turned out to be an unexpectedly windy third day of the famous event.

The young princess opted for less flamboyant wardrobe choice to some of her fellow racegoers, with a above-the-knee white dress and complimentary Nerida Fraiman asymmetric hat complete with a stone-coloured jacket.

Go nude in peep toe heels like Eugenie's

Princess Eugenie was the guest of honour at Glorious Goodwood today and the pretty Royal looked gorgeous for the occasion.

Wearing a white fit-and-flare dress she's been spotted in more than once before, she was the picture of summer elegance. Of course the British weather can't be relied upon so she cleverly covered up in a taupe belted wrap jacket.

Her shoes, though, are the standout element of this outfit. They're by Rupert Sanderson and are again an old favorite of the young Princess. They feature a Mary-Jane strap, peep toe detail, cutout section and in patent nude are super versatile.

So it's a real shame they've now sold out. But if you want to recreate the look then head to our edit below. Ferragamo has a dead ringer or keep things on budget with Forever 21.

During her visit to Goodwood, Eugenie presented Camilla Henderson with a trophy for winning The Magnolia Cup Goodwood Ladies' Race.

Unlike some of the ladies who joined her at the The Qatar Goodwood Cup held in Chichester, Eugenie did not suffer the same wardrobe malfunctions caused by the breeze.

She attended with Mr Brooksbank, 29, who runs restaurants and nightclubs in the capital, paired his classic suit with a pair metallic shades.

The pair complied to Goodwood's strict dress code which outlaws jeans and shorts and insists that guests keep their shoulders covered and eschew fancy dress.

It suggests 'jackets and either ties, cravats or polo neck sweaters' for gentlemen and 'smart casual' for ladies, adding that 'due to the terrain and areas of decking at Goodwood, flat shoes are recommended'.

However, Eugenie chose to ignore this advice, shunning flats in favour of a pair of elegant nude Rupert Sanderson stilettos, at £325, complementing the rest of her parred down outfit.

Eugenie also had a huge grin on her face, perhaps relieved to be out of the office having started a new job at the Hauser & Wirth art gallery just over a week ago.

After a fun-filled start to summer, during which she celebrated her 25th birthday, Eugenie took on a new position as an associate director of the gallery’s London office in Mayfair.

Her new role comes after she was headhunted while working in New York for auction company Paddle8 and lured back to the UK by a hefty salary rise.

THE GLORIOUS GOODWOOD DRESS CODE

While Cheltenham is famous for pearls and fur, and Aintree for its colourfully dressed fillies in fake tan and skyscraper heels, Glorious Goodwood's trademark is low key luxury - and flat shoes.

Delicate bejewelled sandals are the most popular with racegoers, as are Sloaney ballet pumps and in the case of some hardened souls, comfortable loafers and deck shoes.

Nevertheless, the meeting isn't short of glamour with plenty of the big, bold, be-plumed hats of the sort seen at Berkshire's Royal Ascot and neat, nipped-in shift dresses reigning supreme in the paddock.

As at Ascot, racegoers have a strict dress code to contend with which insists on smart-casual in all areas and outlaws bare shoulders and any sort of fancy dress.

'Goodwood is famous for being a stylish yet relaxed occasion,' continues the style guide, 'and gentlemen are required to wear jackets and either ties, cravats or polo neck sweaters in the Richmond Enclosure.

'Linen suits and Panama Hats are traditionally worn by gentlemen. Jeans and shorts are not permitted in the Richmond Enclosure. In other enclosures dress is smart casual.

'Bare shoulder tops and fancy dress are not allowed in any enclosure. Due to the terrain and areas of decking at Goodwood flat shoes are recommended.'
