In the new images, Melissa and friends are seen modelling the designs - which are all priced under $150 and include items such as flowing blouses, high-waisted pants and scarves.

During the new interview Melissa, who is starring in the upcoming all-female remake of cult movie favorite Ghostbusters, also revealed that she had wanted to be a fashion designer since she was in grade school.

'It's always what I thought I would do,' she explained. 'I went into clothing and textiles in college and moved [to Los Angeles] with [shoe designer] Brian Atwood. I was going to finish at FIT and he made me do stand-up on the second night.'

Melissa remains close with her former classmate, and admitted to the magazine that she has always had fashion in the back of her mind, especially with her frequent dealings with red carpet stylists, saying she prefers style to have a 'personal feel to it.'

The actress' line not only avoids catering only to sample sizes, but also uses color-blocking, asymmetry and energetic prints.

As for her favorite item, Melissa revealed to People in June: 'There’s a sweater with a cat drawn on it that’s saying "Meow", and my daughter drew it and it just kind of breaks my heart.'

The line also makes good use of one of Melissa's favorite clothing features: pockets.

'I want pockets in my dresses,' she told the magazine. 'I put pockets in everything! I want pockets inside my pockets.'

This isn't the first time the long-awaited line has been seen online. Melissa posted three photos to Instagram last month featuring herself and the same friends showing off a variety of styles including flowing blouses, polka dot scarves and the kitten graphic sweater.

However, the new images are the first official, professionally shot photos of the comedienne's wares.

Although the new line is not confined to plus sizes, Melissa has frequently lamented the lack of good plus-sized fashion choices.

Back in May, the comedienne told People: 'I feel like there’s a big thing missing where you can’t dress to your mood above a certain number.

'[Malls] segregate plus-size. It’s an odd thing that you can’t go shopping with your friends because your store is upstairs hidden by the tire section: "We’ll put you gals over there because we don’t want to see you and you probably don’t want to be seen."'

Back in 2014 the star told Redbook magazine: 'Two Oscars ago, I couldn’t find anybody to do a dress for me.

'I asked five or six designers — very high-level ones who make lots of dresses for people — and they all said no.'

While on the press tour for her move Spy, which she starred in alongside Jason Statham, the Melissa stopped by The Daily Show with Jon Stewart in June where she debuted another one of her sartorial creations: a silk kimono emblazoned the photos of the late night talk show host's face.
