She's set to attend the Venice Film Festival for the unveiling of her latest film Equals.

Kristen Stewart was the ultimate of cool and understated style as she hit up Gracias Madre in Los Angeles with a male companion for some vegan Mexican fare on Wednesday.

The 25-year-old actress wore a large and loose white V-necked T-shirt tied in a knot at her waist, allowing a peek at her taut tum, along with boyish grey trousers that were cuffed at her ankles.

Black Vans with white laces, and pendant necklace boasting a small and neat padlock at the end made up the rest of Kristen's interesting attire.

She emerged from the West Hollywood eatery wearing shades, but lifted them to the top of her head to meet the sun's glare full on.

Kristen's pale complexion was virtually make-up free as she spotted something of interest across the street.

Eyes will be on Kristen soon as she heads to Italy for the Venice Film Festival premiere of Equals, which has been described as a futuristic love story directed by Drake Doremus and also starring Nicholas Hoult, Guy Pearce and Jacki Weaver.

No doubt Kristen will be clad in something a little more glamorous, more edgy for The Venice Film Festival, which runs from September 2 through 12.

Missing during Wednesday's outing was Kristen's personal assistant Alicia Cargile, with whom she's been spending lots of time.

Kristen did talk about past scandals in Marie Claire's August 15 issue - namely the affair with her Snow White And The Huntsman director, Rupert Sanders, in 2012.

'I lit my universe on fire and I watched it burn,' Kristen told the publication.

'Speaking very candidly, it was a really traumatic period in my early 20s that kick-started something in me that was a bit more feral.'

The affair ended Kristen's relationship with Twilight co-star Robert Pattinson and Rupert's marriage to Liberty Ross.

After briefly rekindling their romance, Kristen and Robert parted ways for good in May 2013.

'I'm really proud that I am able to move forward and not fall into every mental crater,' Kristen revealed, adding: 'Age has made me smarter and calmer. And it is f***ing awesome.'
