Fit for a royal wedding! The Duchess of Cambridge's favourite designer Jenny Packham unveils new bridal collection inspired by A Midsummer Night's Dream

The Duchess of Cambridge's go-to fashion designer Jenny Packham has unveiled a dreamy new bridal collection inspired by A Midsummer Night's Dream.

The London designer, 50, who regularly creates bespoke pieces for Kate, has crafted a number of ethereal gowns, many of them named after Shakespearean characters.

Each dress is white and floating, with lace, flower embellishments or sheer layers - without a meringue among them.

For brides-to-be looking for a bit of sparkle, the Lilya is dripping in Swarovski crystals while the Ophelia design scoops low at the front to display more cleavage.

With each one custom-made to order, the price can vary however, Packham's bespoke dresses for the Duchess usually cost £2,000 to £4,000.

The company describes the romantic new range: 'Appliqué organza blooms, majestic ostrich feathers, crystal foliage motifs and delicate floral lace celebrate the lavish artistry of nature.

'Opulent velvet bows add texture and hues of soft meadow green evoke the shades of summer.

'Swarovski crystals dance in the light adding an otherworldly, whimsical grace to a collection inspired by a midsummer dream and fairy queen.'

Packham launched her first fashion collection at the London Designer Show in 1988 and nine years later ventured into bridalwear.

Most recently, Kim Sears wore a Jenny Packham bespoke chiffon gown for her wedding to Andy Murray.

The dress featured a full skirt with hand-beaded Swarovski crystal cap sleeves, waist detailing and an open back.

In an interview with WWD, Packham revealed that she works closely with Kate, calling her designs for the royal, 'always quite a collaboration'.

But she never knows exactly when the Duchess will step out in one of her designs, saying: 'You kind of always know where it's going to be worn,' she said, noting that the duchess has a great sense of style and a British one.

Kate has worn a range of Packham's designs, including a yellow dress with buttons in Canada in 2011, a green floor length evening gown at the Royal Albert Hall in 2012 and a 1930s-style pink beaded evening gown at a gala dinner at Kensington Palace in 2011.

She also wore the designer throughout her pregnancies and made her first appearance with Prince George in a Jenny Packham blue polka dot dress. 

Rihanna, Keira Knightley, Beyonce and Cameron Diaz are among other fans of the brand.
