From Don's denim jacket to Joan's rocking horse: Mad Men fans are given astonishing treat as 1,400 lots of clothes and props go under the hammer for as little as $50

  • Items include Don Draper's suits, jackets, shirt, shoes, and Cadillac; Betty's wedding ring and shoes
  • Fans can snap up vintage - and working - televisions from the set to watch reruns of the now-finished show
  • The Screen Bid auction starts on Friday at noon (PT), with prices starting between $50 and $150

For those mourning the end of Mad Men, here is a little reprieve.

As they say, one man's trash is another man's treasure - and for millions there is no item more precious than an old prop touched by Don Draper.

On Friday at noon (Pacific Time), 1,385 lots of clothes, accessories and even toys from the hit show will go under the hammer online - starting as low as $50 for a pair of drinking glasses.

The auction is being held by Screen Bid, in association with Lionsgate Entertainment, and every piece comes complete with a ticket of authentication.

Though prices will kick off low - with Don Draper's denim jacket a mere $150 - they will doubtless escalate within minutes.

And unfortunately, winning bidders will also have to pay a buyers premium (24 per cent) plus postage and packaging. Many will presumably see that as a worthy donation to the cause of Mad Men-ifying their existence.

Stellar items already grabbing fans' attention include Betty's wedding ring from Henry, Megan's wedding ring from Don, and Peggy's gold watch - and, of course, Don's Cadillac Coupe DeVille, starting at $1,500.

Betty's light blue open-toe satin shoes are a delicate US size 6, while Don's black Florsheim lace-ups are a men's US size 12.

However, many have expressed their disappointment at the lack of women's clothing - which so many have lusted after since the show, with a per-episode budget of $2.5 million, started in 2007.
