He's currently enjoying an Italian vacation with his wife Catherine Zeta-Jones and their children but Michael Douglas snuck away for a round of golf on Wednesday.

The 70-year-old actor was casually dressed in baggy pink shorts and a white T-shirt as he hit the course in the sunshine.

Keen golfer Michael, who even has his own Michael Douglas & Friends Celebrity Golf Tournament, brushed up on his skills at Pevero Golf Club, one of the world's most breathtaking courses in the world, which meanders its way along Sardinia's Costa Smeralda.

Michael's wife Catherine, 45, hails from Mumbles in Wales and Michael recently revealed he loves to play golf there whenever he can.

'I've been to The Mumbles a number of times,' he says. 'The Gower Peninsula is one of the most beautiful places I've seen.

'They have a fair amount of rain – they could probably import that to California around now. But it's a great community and I love playing golf over there. I can't do the accent. My wife laughs me off the planet when I try.'
