The father of two, was very animated and informative in his discussion about his upcoming film during a thirty-minute sit down interview.

He looked dapper in a simple style consisting of a fitted blue tee, a black leather jacket and dark washed jeans.

Despite having a shorter do' in the film slated for release August 7, he seems to have also ditched his mustache and returned to his usually lengthier light brown locks.

The action-packed trailer tells the story of two kids who decide to take a mischievous joy ride after locating an abandoned police cruiser in the woods.

Bacon stars as the corrupt sheriff Kretzer, who plays the antihero in the blood-pumping movie.

In the midst of his car chase, the Golden Globe winner is shown cocking his gun as another police motorcyclist arrives behind him with his lights on.

He admitted to preparing for the role by writing down his character's autobiography including a fictional family history, religion preference, and even the most minute details.

The X-Men: First Class star said he had instant connection to the script, even though it wasn't dense in dialogue.

‘It was a movie where I could actually picture the entire movie while reading it. They’re not always that way, it was just very well written.’

Bacon noted that he traveled to the director's hometown in Colorado to make the flick with a crew of only 15 people and what he called 'a shoe string budget.'

Nonetheless, he said: ‘we’re very happy with the way it turned out.’

Bacon also dished on what allowed him to have such a successful career in the competitive industry of Tinseltown's elite.

'To me, it’s all about characters and trying to play different kinds of men and trying to walk in different shoes.'

He went on: 'If you sort of, make your choices based on how much you’re getting paid, or the budget of the film is, or the size of your role for instance, it’s going to be a pretty narrow amount of choices.’

Outside of his blockbuster Hollywood roles, he is also married to famous actress 49-year-old Kyra Sedgwick.

He revealed that he'd 'love to work with her again,' even though their previous experience working together on the 2004 film The Woodsman did initially leave them with some concern.

Bacon said that she was the director's first choice, but after he got the role as Walter, they were worried about losing their acting integrity due to being a well-known married couple.

The Footloose favorite quipped: '50 Shades of Grey is hot...married people having sex, gross. You have to tread lightly on that type of thing that you do.'

However, he did say, 'She's the best actress I know.'
