Harry Kewell watched on as Watford Under 21s were emphatically beaten 3-0 by Maidenhead on Tuesday in a friendly, as the Australian prepares to take over as manager of the team.
The ex-Australia international took his place in the stands for the match in Berkshire after the former Liverpool and Leeds man was given his first managerial role at the Hornets last week.
The 36-year-old Kewell is growing familiar with his team ahead of their first season in the Under 21 Professional Development League South in 2015-16.

His side trailed 1-0 at the half-time interval and could not turn the game around.
Kewell, who won the Champions League with Liverpool in 2005, retired from football in 2014 and finished his career in his homeland with Melbourne Heart.
After calling time on his days as a player, Kewell established in Australia but his job at Watford is his first in a professional coaching capacity in England.
Meanwhile, Cardiff City striker Joe Mason inflicted a first defeat of pre-season on Watford's senior side.
Mason opened the scoring against Quique Sanchez Flores' side after 19 minutes, before Troy Deeney hauled his side level with his second goal in as many games.
But Mason scored the winner, 10 minutes from full-time.
