Staying positive: Country singer Catherine Britt tries out new pink hairstyle ahead of first cancer chemotherapy treatment after undergoing IVF to save her eggs

She announced she was diagnosed with breast cancer two months ago.

But country singer Catherine Britt is focusing on the positives and on Saturday looked on the bright side of the prospect of losing her hair and took it as an opportunity to try out another colour.

It comes just days after the 30-year-old underwent IVF to save her eggs as she prepares for her first chemotherapy session next week.

Taking to social media to show off her new pink coloured locks in a before and after snap, Catherine is seen smiling as she stretches her arms out to take the self-captured image.

'When ur told your hair is 100% going to fall out due to the mix of chemo that you’re on what do you do!?..... You have fun with it!!!!,' she wrote alongside the inspirational image.

'Time to experiment with some fun colours I've always wanted to try and some different cuts.... I've got about a week of play #imabarbiegirl #hairdresserfun #fairyflosspink #pinkhairidontcare.'

The day earlier she again took to Facebook to tell her dedicated followers she was beginning to feel better after undergoing IVF to remove some of her eggs.

Sharing a selfie of herself and her black pooch in the car she wrote: 'Heading up the coast today, pre first Chemo session, to our family escape holiday house at the beautiful Corindi Beach.'

'I'm feeling ok, pretty nauseous and still very sore and bloated from the IVF but on the mend.

'Nothing that a beautiful beach getaway with Rascal & James and some good friends can't fix!!,' she ended.

Catherine shared the heartbreaking news about her cancer with her fans via Facebook back in June and said she was in 'shock and disbelief'.

'I’ve had some bad news. Three weeks ago I was diagnosed with breast cancer,' she wrote.

'I have continued since my diagnosis to get on with my life and career as best I can and have scheduled my treatment around all future tour dates and commitments.'

A week later her fiancé James Beverley took to her official accounts to share Catherine's condition following surgery.

'Catherine is back home tucked in bed and recovering as we speak,' he wrote on behalf of her.

'Doctors said the operations went well and we will have some answers next week. I'll take care of her, I promise.

'Thank you everyone for your kind messages of support, I know she read all of them and it really does help knowing she has so many people in her corner. James (Fiancé).'

Speaking to the Sydney Morning Herald, she said of the moment she was given the news: 'I don't remember much more than that. I stayed calm and shook for two hours.'

Catherine is currently in the middle of planning last minute wedding essentials before the couple's big day on October 17.

She told AAP earlier this year: 'The wedding is in October, then we're going honeymooning around Europe for a month or two. Then it's back to touring, and then we move to Nashville next year.'
