Her new man confirmed their romance by sharing a tender Instagram snap in July.

And Bindi Irwin, 17, has since reflected on her relationship with 18-year-old wakeboarder Chandler Powell.

The brunette shared details about her relationship with the sportsman withSunday Style, admitting: 'I feel lucky to have him in my life.'

Bindi, who is the daughter of the late Crocodile hunter Steve Irwin, told the publication she first met Chandler, who lives in the United States, in November 2013, but it was some time before romance blossomed.

She added that modern technology has helped the couple stay close.

'We send a Snapchat or Skype each other. We're connected, which is so great,' she said.

Regarding Chandler signing up as a global ambassador for Wildlife Warriors, she said: 'We are excited to be achieving more conservation work together,' she said.

'I feel lucky to have him in my life.'

Just last month, on Bindi's 17th birthday, Chandler had some kind words for his girl on social media, that further suggested he was her new love interest who she had previously spoken about.

'Happy birthday to this gorgeous girl! Feel very blessed to have you in my life. Counting down the days until I get to see you again! @bindisueirwin #TotallyGushing #TotallyGushing #ILoveCamping #ILoveTheOutdoors #ISwamTheCrocPond,' Chandler wrote on Instagram alongside a picture of the pair by water.

His post came after Bindi confirmed to Entertainment Tonight in July, that she had a boyfriend, but was keeping him under wraps.

She said: 'There is someone special in my life right now, and I'm really happy with that.'

Rumours sparked that she was dating the wakeboarder after she posted a picture of the pair on Instagram that revealed his role as an ambassador for Wildlife Warriors.

Captioning the shot she said she was 'super excited that @chandlerpowell has joined our #WildlifeWarriors team.'

Shared interests: The American appears to have as much as a passion for animals as Bindi

Speaking in February, Bindi told People that dating wasn't on the cards.

'Dad said I can't date until I'm 40,' she said at the time. 'It's a long way off.'

Doting mother Terri, also chimed in about the boy situation, adding: 'Teenage boys are scarier than crocodiles.'

Chandler had previously told The Fix about his new love.

'While it is true that Bindi is very special to me, we are very excited about focusing on our Wildlife Warriors work,' Chandler said.

'We are keeping our personal lives personal, and together we are focusing on conservation work both in Australia and internationally with Wildlife Warriors.'
