'This has been the most painful week of my life': Demi Lovato continues to mourn death of dog Buddy by posting collage of his cutest moments on Instagram

Demi Lovato is still devastated by the death of her beloved dog Buddy, who was tragically killed by coyotes less than a week ago.

On Friday, the 22-year-old singer - who parented the pooch with boyfriend Wilmer Valderrama - took to her Instagram account to thank her fans and followers for their outpouring support during this difficult time.

'This has been the most painful week of my life,' Demi wrote in a recent post after losing her furry companion, which she acquired this past Christmas.

To remember Buddy, the former Disney Channel darling shared a collage of the pup's cutest moments during the seven months she enjoyed his company.

'This has been the most painful week of my life,' she shared. 

'But because Wilmer and I had so much love and support, I've been able to stay strong and will continue to get through this difficult time.'

According to TMZ, the Heart Attack hitmaker found little Buddy in the backyard of her Tarzana, California mansion. 

He had been mauled by a coyote, and Demi made the tragic, terrible discovery herself.

Demi announced the sad news on Tuesday: 'We are absolutely heartbroken to be writing this but Wilmer and I are devastated to inform you that we lost our little angel Buddy last Sunday. He was taken from us way too soon in a tragic accident.'

The couple had often gushed about Buddy on their social media pages since December 16, when she was gifted the white pooch for Christmas 2014.

Since the passing, the Camp Rock alum continued to honor Buddy by sharing: 'Buddy was loved by so many people, and as small as he was, he made a huge impact in our lives. 

'He truly was human in a way, and we were so blessed to have him in our lives...We will never forget our baby boy Buddy, and his gentle loving spirit will live on in our hearts forever.'

Wilmer owns two dogs: a Doberman named Spawn and Chihuahua named Weezy.

Meanwhile, the actor was pictured at the From Dusk Til Dawn: The Series panel discussion during the 2015 Summer TCA Tour on Thursday at the Beverly Hilton Hotel.

During the panel, creator and director Robert Rodriguez talked about Demi and her upcoming guest role in season 2.

'I've always been a big fan of hers and she's on tour a lot, so when she'd come to set to visit I threw out that we'd love to put her in somewhere,' Robert said. 

'She was fantastic. She's really got a great screen presence. If there's time for her to come back in the series, she can.'
