It's just five weeks since she welcomed her second child into the world.

And it's clear Jennifer Love Hewitt was trying to keep things on the down low as she was spotted out and about for the first time since giving birth, going for a walk with a friend in Los Angeles on Saturday.

The 36-year-old actress looked relaxed and gorgeous in her striking ensemble as she went for a sunny stroll just weeks after having son Atticus James, her second baby with husband Brian Hallisay on June 24.

The Ghost Whisperer star wore a loose-fitting, brightly pattered kaftan to keep her cool, while also hiding her slim figure.

She paired the striking garment with skinny jeans and wedged ankle boots, for a casual but stylish look.

The brown-haired beauty wore her long locks loosely around her shoulders and finished off her outfit with a pair of dark sunglasses.

Jennifer and Brian, who met while filming The Client List together, already have a 20-month-old daughter called Autumn.

She arrived in November 2013, just five days after the pair got married in secret.

But it looked as though busy mum Jennifer may have been enjoying a rare moment of down time while out with her friend, without either of her youngsters.

Just one month before she gave birth to Atticus, Jennifer revealed having children made her 'put things into perspective'.

She told People 'I think [as a mom] you just realize how unimportant stuff is.'

'Everything before you have kids is oh-so important and then you have kids and you're like, 'That really doesn't mean anything. My kid is healthy, there's no sniffles, they're sleeping, life is good!' It really puts that into perspective.'
