She told KTBS she has at least 10 broken teeth and too many stitches to count. But the psychological damage is having a greater impact.

'There's a little bit of fear, honestly, because going through this make you realize how delicate life is, and you never know what can happen,' Byrnes-Laird said. 'Things happen so suddenly, without warning.

'All the support that's been shown towards me, I'm so extremely thankful,' Byrnes-Laird said.

A GoFundMe account has been set up to cover her dental bills had raised more than $8,000 as of Saturday.

Police are now trying to track down the attackers and are appealing to the public for information.
