The cast of Fantastic 4 assembled on The Today Show on Monday to talk about the movie and to show off their amazing chemistry.

Kate Mara and Jamie Bell - who have sparked off-screen romance rumours, joined fellow co-stars Miles Teller and Michael B. Jordan, the morning after enjoying a night out together in New York.

'We're all on fire, baby! Straight to the top!' Miles, 28, joked during the interview on Today.

Considering their relaxed demeanour with each other, it was not a surprise that Fantastic 4 had had been a friendly movie set.

'It wasn't hard to kind of build that chemistry on-set.' Michael, 28, shared.

'We had a screening test together, the three of us,' 32-year-old Kate said of herself, Miles, and Michael.

Chemistry: With light bantering and lots of smiles, the Fantastic 4 cast seemed very friendly together

'That was just sort of the start of feeling how natural we all sort of vibed together. Which was nice.'

They were even comfortable enough to joke about each other on Today, with Miles sarcastically insisting that 'sometimes you hate the people you work with'.

When the actor later described his character, Reed Richards, in the first-person as a 'super genius,' his co-stars immediately pounced on Miles' lack of humility.

Joker: On a couple of occasions, Miles made jokes about the cast - they took it well

'It's not about me! We're making a movie!' Miles laughed with mock fury.

'They think it's real life,' he added, turning the mockery on his colleagues, causing 29-year-old Jamie - the quietest during the interview - to double over with laughter.

Picking on the 'super genius': Miles' co-stars immediately ribbed him after he referred to his character, Reed Richards, as a super genius when speaking in the first person

Matching humour: When Miles pretended that the others did not understand the difference between a movie and reality, they all laughed

The night before their interview, all four of the stars were spotted out on-the-town in Manhattan, walking arm-in-arm as they took in the sights.

Joined by Miles' girlfriend, Keleigh Sperry, the actors continued the camaraderie they have shown throughout the press tour for Fantastic 4.

The cast of Fantastic Four grab dinner in NYC

Kate and Jamie are even rumoured to have started a romantic relationship, having been seen out together at least three times over the weekend.

But nothing was mentioned about this during Monday's Today show interview.

'They are the very best of friends, long-time friends. Nothing more,' an insider told E! News back in May.

Based on the Marvel Comics series, Fantastic 4 follows the exploits of the group after they are transported to a strange universe and return with altered bodies and super powers.
