Pitch It Real Good! Salt-N-Pepa give it their best as they take it in turns to throw first baseball at Miami Marlins and San Diego Padres game

They're equally talented rappers, but it seems Salt-N-Pepa are not as in sync when it comes to their pitching skills.

On Saturday, Cheryl 'Salt' James and Sandra 'Pepa' Denton put their athletic chops to the test when they threw the first pitch at the Miami Marlins and San Diego Padres baseball game in Miami, Florida.

Though at a slight disadvantage in her heels, the 49-year-old's pitch soared straight into the hands of the mascot Billy The Marlin, while 45-year-old Pepa's glided away from her target.

'Whoa, strike to Billy!' the impressed commentator declared after the Miami Marlins mascot easily caught Salt's throw.

Following Salt's pitch, the rapper gleefully applauded herself while making room for Pepa.

Pepa kicked her knee into the air and threw the ball, where it breezed away from the hands of the mascot and to the right side of the field.

As Pepa's ball breezed through the air, the commentator noted: 'She had the tennis shoes on so...Billy with a little help!'

Pepa appeared unfazed and playfully pounced towards Salt following her turn before the game, which would see the San Diego Padres reign supreme.

Having skyrocketed to stardom with hits Push It and Let's Talk About Sex, Salt-N-Pepa consisted of members Salt, Pepa, and DJ Spinderella, whose real name is Deidra Roper.

In an interview with Fuse, Pepa recalled how they pushed boundaries as a female music group

'Back then, there weren't many women. When we first came out, we were raw, we were bold, we were in your face with it. We did not care! We didn't hold back,' she said.

The group reformed five years after disbanding in 2002, and have continued to remain relevant thanks to the popularity of their timeless hits, a stint on reality TV, and continuing tours.

They also recently starred in a comical commercial for Geico, a move Salt admitted was beneficial for expanding their audience.

'It brought a whole new audience to us. It's really, really ironic that a freaking commercial brought all this attention to Salt-N-Pepa again. We were already performing, but we started getting a few more gigs and definitely more television from it,' she told Vulture

As far as new music on the horizon, Salt added she was 'reluctant' to consider writing again.

'I've always been reluctant because I feel like you can't touch your legacy. It is what it is. But we got on the bus the other day and started vibing, and I got goose bumps over a few ideas. So I'm starting to get maybe a little creative juice flowing. We'll see.'
