It was just two months ago that Lily took to her very own site, Impossible.com, to share the news of her pregnancy with a simple message written on a Post-It note along with a toy dinosaur.

Sharing the news along with the fun snap, she wrote: 'The first known impossible baby is being born!

'I met Kwame when I was in the process of developing Impossible and he offered the most profound gift, to help build the platform.

'After working together for a long time Kwame and I fell in love, and I am very happy to share our news that we are expecting our first child together…'

Kwame is the 36-year-old founder and CEO of Kwamecorp, a global innovation company that consults for technology giants including Samsung and Intel.

The pair met in 2012 and consulted on the website, which first launched at her old university of Cambridge.

Kwame, who is an investor in Lily's company, has created 12 start ups with his business in as many months, to prove his commitment to emerging businesses.

The child will be Lily's first and will surely surprise fans and peers of the catwalk star, who had failed to spot her growing bump.

Naturally, the announcement has been greeted with well-wishes.

Just a few days before, during the Elle Style Awards, Lily - who previously dated Jude Law and Twitter's Jack Dorsey - won the H&M Conscious Award which was presented to her by American actress Olivia Wilde.

The award, which recognises support for humanitarian and environmental causes, couldn’t be more fitting for the model, actress and environmentalist, who has long been a campaigner for ethical fashion.

After a hugely successful career as a model, which started at the age of 14, Lily went on to start her own ethical knitwear label, The North Circular, in 2009.
