Top Gear presenter Chris Evans looks solemn while out for a jog just days after stunt pilot was killed in tragic accident at his CarFest event 

He kick-started his day with an energised jog on Monday, as he undoubtedly hoped to clear his mind after an emotional few days. 

Chris Evans, 49, was spotted jogging through Primrose Hill following a heartbreaking weekend.

On Sunday, the Top Gear presenter led a minute's silence in tribute to a stunt pilot who was killed in a tragic accident when his plane nose-dived to the ground at his CarFest event on Saturday.

He led the tributes in honour of Kevin Whyman, 34, who was killed when his red Gnat plane suddenly nosedived and crashed into trees in Oulton Park, Cheshire on Saturday.

A visibly upset Evans told reporters: 'There was a tragic accident, the result of which was that one of the pilots involved in a synchro display lost his life.'

The presenter added: 'Our condolences go out to his family, who have been informed.' 

The former RAF fast jet pilot, who was married with one child, was a founding member of the Gnat Display Team and had 10 years' experience in flying a Folland Gnat aircraft.

On Monday Chris, who created the motoring festival, went for a run in a hooded jacket and black shorts.

The presenter added a pair of running leggings to his fitness attire, as he was seen taking long strides in his green laced trainers. 

The Radio 2 breakfast show host signed up to replace Jeremy Clarkson on the motoring show Top Gear in June, but is yet to confirm who will be joining him as new host.

He excitedly tweeted in June: 'First tweet as new Top Gear host. I would like to say Jeremy, Richard & James are the greatest. And NO I'm not leaving the R2 Breakfast Show.' 

And Chris promised to do all he can to respect what has gone on before with the show and hopes to take 'his favourite program' forward when it's his time in the hot seat.
