President Obama was spotted without his wedding ring on multiple occasions last week.

Appearing in public on July 29, July 31 and August 2 there was no ring to be seen, though it was back on President Obama's hand Monday when he appeared in the East Room of the White House for a speech about climate change.

He has gone without his ring in the past, and on Sunday had been playing golf earlier in the day when he was photographed.

In 2010 it was revealed that President Obama was having his ring repaired after a few eagle-eyed reporters noticed he had not been seen wearing the band.

He also ditched it briefly in March of this year. 

The band meanwhile is an intricate design according to The New York Times which he got from Indonesia, where he grew up as a young boy. 

The first lady meanwhile had a more traditional thin, gold wedding ring.

At the time Obama was first spotted not wearing his ring he had been returning from his trip to Africa where he visited Ethiopia and Kenya.

He wore his wedding ring throughout that trip. 

Michelle Obama was seen wearing her ring all last week while she was in Los Angeles for the Special Olympics. 

She has spent much of the summer so far away from her husband – taking their daughters on a trip to Europe in June.

Last week she was in Palm Springs for the Special Olympics and also made an excursion out to the Coachella Valley.

On Saturday she was seen interviewing Wale about her higher-education initiative Reach Higher in an official White House Facebook post.
