Daddy Dave, a character on the street racing reality show Street Outlaws on the Discovery Channel, cheated death during a spectacle on Saturday night which left him with a concussion.

Dave was driving Chevy II with nitrous filled tires at the Amarillo Dragway in Texas for the No Prep event when he lost control of his car after the start of the race, crashed into a wall, and did several barrel rolls before his crushed vehicle stopped, reports TMZ.

Footage of the horrifying moment was posted to YouTube on Sunday.

Following the crash, onlookers can be heard screaming as event staff rush over to the car.

Dave was taken to a nearby hospital and is in stable condition but is suffering from a serious concussion.

'First I need to thank all of you for your prayers! They have done X-rays and scans, we are just waiting for the results. He is in a lot of pain, pretty banged up and a serious concussion. He is talking but doesn't remember anything or even where he is. Please keep him in your thoughts and prayers and I will do my best to keep y'all updated!,' read an Update on Dave's Facebook page written by someone named Cassi.

In the video footage, Dave's co-stars and competitors can be viewed discussing giving over some of their own money from the race to help pay for Dave's medical bills.

According the Street Outlaws website, Daddy Dave has been racing for over 20-years and has an 'endless budget' from construction mogul Jackie Knox who funds his career. Daddy Dave is known as the reigning 'King of The Streets.'

Every single one of Street Outlaws episodes comes with a valid warning: 'Just because we're dumbasses, don't mean you can be too. So don't do any of the sh*t that we do at home.'
