Cutting it close! Rumer Willis wears fracture boot ONE WEEK before her Broadway debut... amid reports she isn't prepared

It’s been over a month since Rumer Willis revealed that she had stress fractures from dancing.

But the injury appears to be perpetuating for the winner of Dancing With The Stars season 20 as she was seen wearing a fracture boot on Monday in Los Angeles.

The 26-year-old daughter of Bruce Willis and Demi Moore is scheduled to begin her role as Roxie Hart in Broadway’s Chicago in just one week despite the injury and insider claims that the dancer is struggling with her dance routines.

With an air of understandable dismay due to her injury, Rumer walked along in Daisy Dukes and an unbuttoned flannel that showed off her toned stomach.

She wore a black beanie and round-rimmed sunglasses as she talked on her cell phone.

With a retail bag from Planet Blue, the dancing star had apparently been shopping at the internationally located bohemian boutique.

Sources report that Rumer’s rehearsals for her upcoming Broadway role haven’t been going well with the dancer having difficulties with her dance routines.

'Everyone is panicking,' a show insider revealed to Daily Mail Online exclusively. 'Rumer was really overwhelmed with the complexity of the role and the amount of material she was supposed to retain in a short time. '

'If her rehearsals were any indication of things to come, they're not sure she'll be ready for opening night. '

Casting executives thought Rumer would be a fitting replacement for Grammy-winner Brandy Norwood in the role of Roxie Hart.

But because of Rumer’s shakiness, the showrunners have asked Norwood to stick around just in case her replacement isn’t ready.

After appearing for an in-character photo shoot towards the end of last month, Rumer left New York and returned to Los Angeles.

Despite the reports that the dancer wasn’t ready for the role, she decided to take a break from rehearsals anyway.

On Thursday she updated fans on her unstable condition via Twitter, but failed to mention anything about her role on Broadway.

‘Hey guys because of my foot injury I have to take a few extra days off but I'll be back with the #DWTSlivetour on Aug 5th in Charleston,’ Rumer wrote.

She’s scheduled to return to New York on Tuesday to continue preparing for her starring role in Chicago, but show insiders claim that it will be too late.

'It's just not enough time to learn all that she has to learn. Unless she has an acting coach, stage choreographer, voice coach and musical arranger in Hollywood that she's hired on her own to prepare her, this will be a disaster of epic proportions,' the insider claimed.

Rumer shot to fame after winning season 20 of Dancing With The Stars with her partner Valentin Chmerovskiy.

Since winning the actress has been touring the country on the DWTS: Perfect 10 Tour, performing through the pain with her injured foot.

Before announcing that she was taking a break via Twitter, the season 20 champion joined her fellow competitors on the stage while wearing her fracture brace.
