LOS ANGELES - Jimmy Fallon has suffered a hand injury that forced NBC to scrap Friday's taping of "The Tonight Show."

Fallon was taken to the hospital Friday morning for an injury that required minor surgery. He was already scheduled to be on production hiatus for the coming two weeks, June 29 through July 10.

"Tonight Show's" twitter feed assured fans "Don't need to worry, Jimmy is okay" in a subsequent tweet.
