Move over Magic Mike. There's a new sexy primate making hearts melt on social media.

Shabani is an 18-year-old buff and "brooding" silverback gorilla, and his muscular good looks have made him the star attraction with women at the Higashiyama Zoo and Botanical Gardens in Nagoya, Japan.

Zoo officials have noted a marked increase in attendance by Japanese women, according to local media.

Many of his female fans have taken to Twitter to comment on his rugged, hunky looks, calling him "handsome" and dubbing him "ikemen" -- a good-looking man.

Shabani was raised at the Taronga Zoo in Sydney, Australia, but was moved to Japan in 2007.

The U.K. Telegram asked Taronga Zoo senior zookeeper Allan Schmidt if he was surprised by Shabani's popularity.

"No," he told the newspaper. "The Japanese love their fads."

He added: "I would say most people would consider him fairly dashing."
