Lenny lets rip! Kravitz proves he goes commando when his leather trousers split WIDE open over his crotch during energetic gig in Sweden

It's the stuff of nightmares; the kind of fashion faux pas that would leave most people horrified and embarrassed for the rest of their days.

But when Lenny Kravtiz's leather pants split wide open as he crouched rather energetically at the start of his performance in Sweden on Monday night, the rocker seemed completely unfazed.

The 51-year-old music icon was entertaining the heaving crowds at Gröna Lund in Stockholm as part of his current Strut World Tour.

However, during the performance, he not only split his skintight black leather pants while squatting down at the front of the stage, he also revealed he was going without underpants on.

Fully exposing himself while crouching with his legs open, the going-commando star initially seemed unaware that he was on full show to the audience, unprotected from the sanctity of a pair of boxer shorts.

It soon became clear to the Fly Away hitmaker that something had gone awry in his nether-region, though, as he quickly left the stage for a few minutes.

The guitar-wielding musician then returned after having had a change of clothing, sporting a brand new and un-ripped pair of leather bottoms so he could continue the rest of his show fully covered.

According to Swedish website The Local, a producer for the show had taken to the stage to alert the screaming audience that there had been some issues on the stage.

Speaking to local paper Expressen, an member of the audience explained what had happened. 

'The producer stepped up and said that they had 'some problems on stage'. A bit later Kravitz came out wearing other trousers. He said 'sorry, I ripped my trousers',' the fan said.

'It was insane, I killed myself laughing. And then I called my mum who was there at the show as well. Her reaction was the same and she almost killed herself laughing too,' she continued, revealing it was all taken in jest. 

Ever the consummate performer, though, Lenny carried on with his gig, performing his greatest hits as he continued his globe-trotting tour, in line with his latest album, Strut.

The handsome bearded star kept it simple for his on-stage look, pairing those tricky leather pants with a classic black t-shirt, a statement necklace and a denim jacket.

And, as ever, the cooler-than-cucumber star rocked a pair of black shades for the entirety of his set. 

After the gig, which was clearly otherwise successful, Lenny thanked his Swedish fans for their support on his Twitter page.

He wrote to his 4.91m followers: 'Thank you Stockholm! #StrutTour.'
