She recently revealed she is pregnant with her and her husband's first child.

Now, Lauren Bush Lauren - the model niece of former president George W Bush and the wife of David Lauren, the son of designer Ralph Lauren - has shown off her baby bump for the first time.

The 31-year-old posted a snap of herself and her mother, Sharon Bush, paddle boarding on a lake on Instagram on Sunday morning, along with the caption: 'A mother, daughter morning paddle.'

In the image, Lauren - who is around six months' pregnant - is seen beaming in a blue cap, sunglasses, shorts and a bikini top, with her perfectly round baby bump entirely on display.

Meanwhile, her mother - who very publicly divorced from Lauren's father, Neil Bush, in 2003 following 23 years of marriage - is captured wearing a pink cap, sunglasses and a blue swimsuit.

The personal snap comes a week after Lauren and her 43-year-old husband - the middle child and youngest son of Ralph Lauren - announced the exciting news of her pregnancy on Instagram.

The couple posted a sweet picture of themselves gazing into each other's eyes last Sunday, writing: 'We feel blessed and excited to welcome our little one to the world this November! #babymoon.'

In the heart-warming image, model-turned-philanthropist Lauren is dressed casually in a navy blue and white striped shirt worn under denim overalls, while David is donning a white oxford and a hat.

The couple, who spent last weekend in Big Sur, California, as part of a West Coast roadtrip, posed in front of a sunset for the picture, which has since been 'liked' on the site more than 2,000 times.

Many of their friends immediately congratulated them on their news with heartfelt comments.

'So happy for you both!' socialite Amanda Hearst added.

And actress Elizabeth Berkley simply wrote: 'The best!!!!!!! [sic]'

David, who shared the same photo and message on his personal Instagram account, received similar amounts of love and praise from friends, family, and fans who were thrilled about the news.

Lauren and David, who live in a vast $28million townhouse formally owned by Annie Leibovitz in New York City, appear to be enjoying their time on the West Coast.

Also last Sunday, the FEED projects co-founder shared a photo of David holding a guitar case while standing in front of the scenic view. 'Love traveling with this music man @davidlauren,' she wrote.

Lauren, the granddaughter of former president George H W. Bush launched FEED, dedicated to fighting world hunger and feeding children on behalf of the UN World Food Programme, in 2007.

The philanthropist recently revealed to Elle that David, who is Ralph Lauren's global advertising and marketing division, has been a fantastic resource over the past eight years.

'He's been so helpful to give me guidance and exposure to people he's worked with who are experts in their specific parts of the business,' she said. 'And he's such a creative mind, so it's always fun to have marketing and communication brainstorms with him. He's full of great ideas.'

The couple wed in 2011 at the 17,000-acre Double RL ranch in Ridgway, Colorado. Lauren, who was walked down the aisle by her father, rode to the ceremony in a horse-drawn carriage.

In an interview with Vogue, David described the occasion like 'a beautiful movie... like you were riding across the old west and you stopped in at a wedding'.

Lauren wore a long-sleeved embellished dress with tulle, lace and crystals that was designed by her father-in-law, and the look was completed with a headpiece around her forehead and a long veil.

'It was like a dream come true,' Lauren said of Ralph designing her wedding gown. 'We sat together and arrived at this silhouette. It isn’t Victorian exactly. I wanted something modern as well, so there is the high-necked collar and puffed shoulders with the large open back.'

It has been quite the celebratory year for the Lauren family - particularly for granddad Ralph Lauren.

Earlier this year, Lauren's sister-in-law Dylan Lauren, 40, and her husband Paul Arrouet, welcomed fraternal twins via a surrogate.

Dylan's son Cooper Blue and daughter Kingsley Rainbow were born in April, with the new mother and her spouse, 44, confirming to People that they were 'celebrating the birth of their twins'.

A spokesperson said Dylan's 'parents, fashion icons Ralph and Ricky Lauren, are overjoyed to welcome their first grandchildren and witness their daughter usher in the next generation'.
