Louis Tomlinson says One Direction's new single is 'proof' the group have adjusted well without Zayn Malik
They were forced to rejig their style following the shock exit of Zayn Malik in May.
But One Direction's Louis Tomlinson thinks the band have done a grand job at transforming into a four-piece.
Speaking to Darryl Morris on Manchester radio station Key 103 on Monday, Louis credited their ability to adjust though admitted it was all a little odd to begin with.

Pat on the back: One Direction's Louis Tomlinson has praised the band's efforts as a four-piece
'Don’t get me wrong it was a different dynamic at first and I think that’s just another challenge and another adjustment that we’ve had to make,' he dished amid the release of Drag Me Down, the group's first single as a quartet.
'I think we’ve done that and I think we’ve proved that with this single. We always made a habit of sharing out the vocals anyway so we just said to ourselves we’ve got to make this work and I think we did,' the Midnight Memories singer added.
Chatting to Capital Breakfast's Lisa Snowdon and Dave Berry the same day, the singer denied their new single was a dig at former member, Zayn.
Think again: Louis also denied rumours that new track Drag Me Down is a dig at their former band member
When the duo joked that the track was about their ex-band mate no longer dragging them down following his departure, the alleged father-to-be wasn't having any of it.
'Are you trying to look for some kind of controversial answer here? You're not getting it. The song is not about that, obviously,' the Midnight Memories crooner responded.
But despite their latest leap without him, Zayn proved there is no bad blood between himself and the group and praised their new track on Twitter on Saturday.
Moving on: Zayn (pictured centre before leaving the band) left the group to pursue a solo career
'Proud of my boys the new single is sick. Big love. :) x,' he wrote.
The 22-year-old has plenty to smile about after signing a music deal with RCA Records, with whom he will launch his highly-anticipated solo career.
'I guess I never explained why I left , it was for this moment to be given the opportunity to show you who i really am! #realmusic #RCA !!,' the star tweeted shortly after penning his name on the dotted line.

Going it alone: The 22-year-old recently signed a solo contract with 1D's rival label RCA records
The singer then went on to add, '#RealMe'.
Meanwhile, Louis' radio interview also saw the star confirm rumours that he would love to work as a judge on The X Factor.
'I’d love to judge but as it stands we’re working on this next record and we’ve got to sort that out, so until I’ve done that I’ll wait and see,' the heartthrob dished.
'It’s always been a side of the work that’s really interested me and the X Factor in particular, you can’t deny the opportunity that it gave to us boys and for that reason I’ll always be fascinated with the process and the chances it can give to people'
