Most women are used to squeezing their worldly possessions into a bag the size of a matchbox to avoid extortionate cloakroom charges on a night out.

But now an American company hopes to end the challenge of whittling down belongings to one lipstick, a credit card and some change with its invention - the Sassy Stash.

The lace garter with built in pockets that is worn on the thigh and can store basic evening essentials, leaves women with free hands to throw their best shapes on the dance floor.

The accessory is secured with a Velcro strap and can be worn under a skirt or shorts or even on display as a fashion statement while keeping belongings safe and discreet.

The creators of the product say on their website that the idea behind the product came after they were being limited by their bulky handbags.

They write: 'It was a girls' night out one weekend that started it all. All the girls in the group had a clutch or purse but once it came time to go into the club, we all had to check in our bags.

'One by one, the girls took out the essentials they needed for the night - cell phone, ID, credit card, lip-gloss. And the cliché AHA question came - there has to be a better way!'

The idea came to the creators after having to check their bags into a cloak room on a night out

Firebox stocks the Sassy Stash for £24.99 and the e-tailer claims that this is a product aimed at women who believe that 'Beyonce is your spirit animal. Always'.

They continue to explain that the Sassy Stash will help its wearer to enjoy their night to the full without the interruption of hand baggage.

Several users have posted cheeky pictures of their lace covered thighs and the ample amount they've managed to squeeze into their discreet pockets.
