Just hours after it was revealed that she had been dumped by Zayn Malik, Perrie Edwards was hard at work.

The 22-year-old Little Mix singer put on a brave face as she hit the promotional trail with her bandmates in Los Angeles, where they are currently promoting their new single Black Magic.

Perrie looked quite solemn, not entirely surprising considering a source told MailOnline that she is 'completely devastated' after Zayn, 22, broke up with her two weeks ago.

The former One Direction singer has left Perrie heartbroken after calling off their engagement just four months after he quit One Direction to 'save their relationship'.

A source told MailOnline: 'Perrie is absolutely devastated. Zayn called off the engagement two weeks ago, she's so upset.'

And an insider told MailOnline the timing could not be worse as Perrie had to go straight into promotion for the band's new single Black Magic.

The source said: 'Perrie is being a trooper about it and putting on a brave face but she's devastated. She's doesn't know what he's thinking. She's going to go out and promote the new single but obviously the timing could not be worse, especially when she's going to be doing so many interviews.'

Perrie's bandmates are said to be providing a much needed shoulder to lean on, with a source telling PEOPLE: 'Perrie's being supported by her bandmates, but she's really in pieces about this.'

A source close to Zayn told Us Weekly that he simply wanted a 'fresh start', adding: 'He just wanted to move on and start over in all ways.'

MailOnline has contacted reps for Perrie and Zayn for comment.

One of the band's first stops on day one of their promo tour on Tuesday was with E! News, with the US site reporting that the singer 'had a giant smile on her face,' throughout the chat.

Perrie didn't give too much away, but E! write that when asked how she's doing following the split, she replied: 'I'm good, thank you,' before her bandmates swiftly moved the conversation along.

Perrie and her bandmates had a full day of promotion ahead and stopped to fill up with some frozen yoghurt in between appearances.

The blonde beauty looked stunning in a white cropped top, denim shorts and with her blond hair loose around her shoulders.

And she even managed to give a smile as she and her bandmates posed for an Instagram picture ahead of their busy promotional duties.

Zayn and Perrie had been dating since December 2011, after meeting on set of the X Factor.

It's been a hell of a year for this Little Mix star with a lot of ups and downs. After her fiancé quit One Direction, the fans looked wrongly to Perrie for someone to blame. She of course faced issues when Zayn was papped with a girl on tour and now she's celebrating her band's number one single, yet to be moved from the top spot for three weeks! Her emotions must be all over the place.

It seems to us that perrie more than anyone deserves a huge break and that's exactly what she's doing here with the girls in Los Angeles. We applaud you Perrie Edwards.

And of course she wasn't going to sunbathe without looking her best either, her nails perfectly manicured, her hair looking beachy and her bikini highlighting her curves, not to mention her slick shades.

While fans of Zayn previously blamed Perrie for him quitting One Direction, many were happy to hear the news of their split on Tuesday.

Many took to Twitter to share their happiness that the heartthrob had dumped his pretty blonde fiancee, and they didn't seem to care that Perrie is 'devastated' about the break-up.

Meanwhile, other users suggested Perrie should have quit her own band, Little Mix in order to support Zayn's desire to lead a 'normal' life.

One fan wrote: 'What just happened?! Did Perrie made him chose her over his career? Unfair, man. She should also quit if that's the case. Just an opinion (sic).'

Another heartbroken Directioner simply wrote: 'You broke all of our hearts to fix yours @PerrieEdwards.'

Others were more sympathetic though, with one fan hoping Zayn's departure will mean a happy ending for him and Perrie.

But after it was revealed on Tuesday that Zayn, 22, had abruptly broken up with Perrie, also 22, two weeks ago, fans were quick to take to Twitter to share their glee.

However some people were upset with comments ranging from 'can't believe Zayn and Perrie broke up,' 'Don't be mad at perrie we all know what it feels like to lose zayn :(', and 'Why everyone is happy because zayn and perrie broke up? I wish for you to break up with your boyfriend and your future husband'

And there was some sympathy, with tweets including, 'I love Zayn obviously but Perrie can and will find someone better for her,' 'Perrie, thank you for loving Zayn especially in those hard times. We know that you are a big reason why he stood up for himself. Thank you x' and 'I just pray that perrie is okay and that zayn is okay because they're the only two people who's opinion is honestly valid on this situation'.

June 2013: Zayn proved his love by getting a gets a cartoon-style image of Perrie tattooed on his arm. She was touched by the gesture and said at the time: 'It must be love to be honest.
