Jemima Khan split with Russell Brand almost a year ago but she's found an unlikely friend in his one-time former co-star Greta Gerwig.

The Goldsmith heir was pictured enjoying an evening with the California-born actress, who once played her ex-boyfriend's on-screen love interest, in London on Monday.

Jemima, 41, looked sophisticated yet sexy as she slipped on a black bodycon dress which featured a mesh panel that ran from her thighs down to her knees.

The skin-tight frock perfectly flattered her form and the semi-sheer details highlighted her slender thighs.

The Vanity Fair Editor-at-Large threw on a peplum-style cropped blazer and added height to her petite frame with a pair of black strappy stilettos.

Jemima opted to wear minimal make-up and left her thick brunette tresses loose and flowing over her shoulders and down her back.

Meanwhile, Greta opted for a more colorful ensemble and complemented her porcelain skin in a pink floral brocade mini dress.

The 31-year-old's pretty frock featured a low V-shaped neckline, offering a glimpse of her pert chest.

Greta toned down her glammed-up outfit by adding a pair of nude pointed flats and a silver box clutch bag.

She too chose to go easy on the make-up and added only a light touch of brown eyeliner to both eyes.

The duo's outing comes as a surprise considering their previous relations with comedian-turned-campaigner Russell.

Greta first had a relationship  - albeit on-screen - when she played his love interest Naomi Quinn in 2011 romantic comedy, Arthur.

Talking about filming with Russell at the time, she said: 'It was just so much fun and I didn't want it to end.

'He was really wonderful to film serious scenes with. When you play his love interest, he's trying to charm you and make you laugh so I spent a lot of time laughing at Russell doing things.'

Two years later, Jemima enjoyed a year-long relationship with him and the pair attended a whole host of VIP events together.

Jemima and Russell went their separate ways in September 2014.
