Frozen in the jungle! Nicki Minaj gets a Madame Tussauds waxwork figure inspired by her provocative Anaconda music video

Nicki Minaj's successful music career has just hit another milestone: She has been honoured with a wax figure at Madame Tussauds in Las Vegas.

The 32-year-old rapper's likeness is at the centre of a larger display depicting a moment from her hugely successful Anaconda video.

Officially unveiled at the museum on Tuesday, the provocative figure will join other artists in the attraction's Music Room.

According to the Los Angeles Times, more than 20 craftspeople were involved with the sculpting process over a period of six months.

First sculpted in clay to precise measurements taken from the Starships artist, the wax figure itself was created in a plaster cast with details like hair and eyes added later.

Nicki's wax likeness is the central figure in the display, placed in a crouched position seen several times in the Anaconda video.

Questioning reality: If they were not seen in different poses, it would have been impossible to tell that the dancers were real and the Nicki statue was fake

Real dancers were on-hand - wearing costumes from the video - to flank Nicki's waxwork.

The figure's costume - a gold bikini top with black bottoms and high-heeled sandals - also comes straight from the video, which has been viewed almost 500 million times to-date.

In addition to being one of the most popular online videos of 2014, Anaconda was Nicki's highest-charting single to-date and earned her a Grammy nomination at the end of the year.

Although not there in person, Nicki was clearly pleased about her wax likeness, posting several times to social media after its unveiling.

'YOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO WTF?!?!?!?!??!?? Had no idea they were really doing this. I would've went to Vegas for this. #HappyBirthdayAnaconda,' she wrote along with a video of the figure.

'I love it and I can’t wait to see it,' she added with a still shot of the figurine. 'Lol this looks like a human.Wtf. #HappyBirthdayAnaconda my Wax figure is now in VEGAS.'

'they had the dancers ready and everything. so iconic. Thank u,' Nicki added in the caption of a video that showed the unveiling itself.

'This is the real picture they used of me from Anaconda,' she said in a third post that included a still from the music video.

The unveiling of the waxworks might have been a highlight of a presumably stressful week for Nicki.

On Thursday, she reportedly dumped her rapper boyfriend, Meek Mill - who had been in an angry feud with Drake on Twitter.

A 28-year-old artist who has been opening for Nicki on her ongoing The Pinkprint Tour, Meek is - according to MediaTakeOut.com - still on 'good terms' with his ex.

'I think they took their relationship too far, too fast,' one of Nicki's best friends told the site.

The cordial relationship between Nicki and Meek was put to the test over the weekend, when they were seen partying in a group.

They did not seem to make eye contact in photos and kept their distance from one another.
