They are the new celebrity BF's whose recent getaway went viral on the Internet.

And now Amy Schumer has revealed how she came to be enjoying a boating trip with Hunger Games actress Jennifer Lawrence.

Speaking on Jon Stewart's The Daily Show on Monday, the 34-year-old funny woman said all her friends were really excited to be joined by the star.

Amy said of Jennifer: 'She is the coolest chick you will ever meet.'

The Trainwreck actress revealed that once a year she goes away with all her girlfriends from high school.

She joked: ''We went to the The Hamptons. They wouldn't let us go back to Martha's Vineyard, no one would rent us a house because they heard about us.'

She went on to say she had told Jennifer they were planning to go out on a boat, and the actress had then said she would like to join them: 'I was like, "Oh, we’re going on a boat tomorrow. You should come."

'It was kind of a hypothetical. And she was like, "I think I’m coming."'

The actress revealed her friends, who are nurses and teachers, were very excited when they found out they had a star coming on their trip.

Amy showed off some other photos from the day trip which didn't end up online while talking.

One showed her on a jet ski with Jennifer and another was of the two women standing next to each other.

Amy said she was a bit put out to have become a viral sensation in pictures showing her standing next to the svelte actress.

She joked: 'It’s the last person you want to be next too. In all the pictures, I look like her coach.”

Amy posted some photos herself of her getaway and her day with Jennifer.

Last Thursday she put up a photo of the actress standing on the top of a human pyramid as she larked around with her friends.

Meanwhile the comedienne was at the bottom providing structural support.

'Human pyramid,' is all Amy used to caption the shot which featured the two stars and some friends aboard the boat.

Earlier that day, she also posted a photo of her riding on the back of a jet ski near the Long Island Sound driven by her new bestie, captioning the image 'Jlaw #maniac'

The blonde stars appeared to be having the time of their lives, wearing swimsuits and black life vests on the exhilarating ride.

Amy faced the camera with a huge grin on her face as speed-demon JLaw took control of the throttle, wearing sunglasses as she focused on the open water ahead.

It didn't take long for social media users to express their joy at the blossoming friendship, with many hoping it was a sign of a collaboration between the Oscar-winner and funny woman.

'Ignoring my drowning friends #kingtritan,' she captioned a photo in which her friends were riding a wave on boogie boards.

Another photo showed Amy lounging on a white sofa with an adorable pooch. 'We are on island time,' she wrote with the comment matching her purple T-shirt.
