Solid as a rock! Courteney Cox flashes engagement ring as she enjoys a romantic hike with fiance Johnny McDaid

They have not yet walked down the aisle, but Courteney Cox and fiance Johnny McDaid already look like they're in their honeymoon phase.

The lovebirds painted the picture of bliss as they enjoyed a romantic hike in Malibu on Monday with their arms linked.

And while the sight was a heart-warming display, it was Friends star Courteney's engagement ring that courted the most attention.

The actress flashed the sparkler that was given to her after Snow Patrol rocker Johnny popped the question during her 50th birthday in June last year.

The couple became engaged after seven months of dating during a holiday in Turks and Caicos.

A source close to the pair told Us Weekly of the engagement: 'Johnny told her, "I'm going to spend the rest of my life with you whether you marry me or not, but I really hope you say yes."'

The ring appears to have marquise-cut stones with one large diamond flanked by smaller gems.

And Johnny picked up the unique design from Courteney's gal pal Jennifer Meyer - a friend of her former co-star Jennifer Aniston.

The 38-year-old jewelry designer, who is actor Tobey Maguire's wife, shared a snap on Instagram alongside Courteney and her own design.

She captioned the photo taken shortly after the proposal: 'I guess he liked it so he put a Jennifer Meyer ring on it!! Xo #Johnny #Courteney #jennifermeyer #engagementring.'

For the hike in scenic Malibu, the Scream actress was dressed casual in a purple top and blue shorts.

She tied her hair back into a low knot and went makeup-free.

The 38-year-old Irish star had on a blue T-shirt with khaki shorts and a blue-grey cap.

The entertainers were well-matched companions in dark sunglasses and grey Nike sneakers.

Though they looked rather eager to head to the altar, the couple is actually in no rush to walk down the aisle.

Speaking to People magazine last Monday at the Hollywood premiere of Courteney's film Before I Go - a comedy-drama that she directed - Johnny explained:

'We'll get there,' he told the weekly, adding, 'I just want to be with this woman for the rest of my life. That is all that matters. The ceremonies are academic.'

Courteney sizzled in a plunging red suede Jitrois Paris dress and posed for photos alongside her man, who showed off his rocker style in a leather jacket, grey sweater and grey jeans.

At the event, she was also joined by her BFF Jennifer Aniston and Kate Walsh, who co-starred in the film along with Sean William Scott, Olivia Thirlby and David Arquette.

The Dirt actress was married to David Arquette for 14 years and divorced in 2013. They are parents to their 10-year-old daughter Coco, who was there to lend support.

Courteney's mini-me appears to be following in her mother's fashion footsteps by donning footwear that looked similar to her high heels.

A day later, the Golden Globe nominee revealed on The Ellen DeGeneres Show that her youngster was looking forward to seeing her walk down the aisle - whenever that day comes.

She told the host: '(Coco) is very excited about the wedding. I was going to hire a wedding planner, but apparently she wants to do it.'

The brunette added that Coco is keen on filling many roles at the ceremony, including that of flower girl, bridesmaid and maid of honor.

Meanwhile, Courtney - who is best known for her role as Monica Gellar on the hit NBC sitcom Friends - revealed in an interview with Yahoo Style on Friday that an on-screen reunion with her co-stars may never come to fruition, citing the impediment is a 'person who flakes.'

Flakiness: While Friends pairings have happened frequently, Courteney insisted that at least one actor always flaked out when the whole group tried to meet, hinting that it is her former on-screen brother David Schwimmer (top right)

'We're not doing it! It's just not going to happen,' she said of the comedy that ended 10 years ago.

She added that her co-stars Jennifer Aniston, Lisa Kudrow, Matt LeBlanc, Matthew Perry, and David Schwimmer have not appeared in the same place since the series finale in 2004.

'We've gotten about 80 percent there, but there's always one person who flakes at the end,' Courteney explained.

'I'm not going to name names, but it may not be [David] Schwimmer,' she said of the 48-year-old who played her brother.
