'What are blacks good for?' Sherri Shepherd blasts Kelly Osbourne on Twitter as celebrities react to host's racist comment... but Giuliana Rancic remains silent

Kelly Osbourne found herself in the midst of a public backlash on Tuesday over insensitive comments she made on The View.

Debating Donald Trump's controversial opinions on US immigrants, the 30-year-old TV presenter left her hosts aghast when she said 'If you kick every Latino out of this country, then who is going to be cleaning your toilets, Donald Trump?'

And it wasn't long before the masses took to Twitter, including former The View co-host Sherri Shepherd to express their shock at Kelly's insensitive words.

Sherri said: 'oooh Lawd @KellyOsbourne latinos can only clean toilets... what are blacks good for? breastfeeding dem babies! Girl what did you just say!'

'What did you just say!' Sherri Shepherd was one of several celebrities to react on Twitter after Kelly Osbourne's racially insensitive comments about Latinos on The View on Tuesday

But the 48-year-old author took it a little easier on the daughter of Sharon and Ozzy with her next tweet, saying: 'cutting @KellyOsbourne a little slack, bc I've done it myself ... sometimes isht comes out of your mouth live that you didn't mean to say'

She then added: 'It's okay @KellyOsbourne ... @GiulianaRancic did same ... sometimes we say dumb stuff & regret it but hope we have friends who understand'

Indeed, many are calling the incident karma for Kelly who threw E! host and friend Giuliana Rancic under the bus earlier this year after she made comments - which were construed as racially insensitive - about actress Zendaya on Fashion Police.

When Giulana made a joke about her hair resulting in public backlash, Kelly Osbourne defended her friend Zendaya on Twitter and posted a message saying: 'I DO NOT CONDONE RACISM SO AS A RSULT OF THIS IM SERIOUSLY QUESTIONING STAYING ON THE SHOW[sic].' In the end, she ultimately quit the series.

Giuliana, 40, has yet to speak out about this most recent blunder involving her former friend and co-worker.

Never one to shy away from stirring up controversry, rapper Azealia Banks also took to Twitter to say: 'I actually like kelly osbourne but girl .... NOOOOOOONO NO NO NO NO'

But the 24-year-old appeared to want to have a much broader debate on the issue, as she added: The reason why it's wrong for white people to make any comment on the socio-economic status of any other racial group IS .....

Because the America dream rests on and is supported by a SYSTEMATICALLY OPRESSED UNDERCLASS. It's always has and always we'll be.

Republican TV personality Larry Elder took Trump's side in the issue: 'So #KellyOsbourne's comment on Latinos and toilets is NOT racist--'cuz "she didn't mean it that way." But #DonaldTrump's comment IS racist?'

And baseball player Enrique Hernandez, of the LA Dodgers, blasted the British-born star: 'Heading to the stadium early so that I can clean the toilets in the clubhouse! Right? @KellyOsbourne'

While Kelly's mother Sharon didn't speak directly about the comments, the 62-year-old did tweet her thanks to the co-hosts of The View for how they reacted over the faux pas.

'I want to thank the ladies @TheView for being so gracious to @KellyOsbourne today.' she said.

Her grateful tweet followed The View host Rosie Perez's apology to Kelly, which surprised many of her followers who lashed out saying that she had no need to say sorry.

'My apologies @KellyOsbourne, I took your point wrong-#Trump #Latinos. My bad. You're heart is so pure & righteous. I adore you. @TheView'

Backlash: Host Karen Civil appeared to call Kelly a racist

During a Hot Topics segment about Presidential hopeful Trump's poll numbers with Latinos as conducted by Telemundo and The Wall Street Journal, co-host Rosie read stats that found that 75 percent of Latinos do not like Trump; 61 percent said they viewed him very negatively; 13 percent said they viewed him in a positive light; and 50 percent found his immigration rhetoric offensive.

Rosie said that, according to the poll, 55 percent of Latino voters agreed that Trump's comments about Mexico were 'insulting and racist and have no place in a campaign for president.'

It was then that Kelly offered: 'If you kick every Latino out of this country, then who is going to be cleaning your toilet Donald Trump?'

A silence fell over the studio audience and you could see the other co-hosts were taken aback. Then Perez mumbled: 'Oh, that's not... oh, no!' as she shook her head in disbelief.

The View's Raven-Symone then told Kelly: 'There's more jobs than that he can use them for.'

Sensing things were tense, Kelly clarified: 'In a sense, you know what I mean? In L.A. they always...' But before she could finish, Rosie had calmed enough to finally check her.

'Latinos are not the only people doing that,' explained Rosie, looking seriously into Kelly's eyes.

Kelly backtracked and tried to elaborate. 'I didn't mean it like that! Come on, I would never mean it like that. I'm not part of this argument," she contested.

Realized her mistake: During the break, Osbourne burst into tears. 'Everyone is going to think I'm racist. I can't believe this,' she cried, as producers of the show and her personal handlers ran to her side.

A source said Kelly 'was hysterical because she knew the backlash was imminent. Let's face it, she turned on Giulana who was obviously only reading a joke prepared by producers, but these were Kelly's own words and she said them on live TV.'

'Everyone assured Kelly things would be okay. They were trying to calm her down before returning from commercial break. Rosie was still pissed. She stormed off and said, 'I want no parts of that mess,'' a source at the show told Mail Online.

'She was hysterical because she knew the backlash was imminent. Let's face it, she turned on Giulana who was obviously only reading a joke prepared by producers, but these were Kelly's own words and she said them on live TV. No one could explain her actions but her and she feared the fallout from it all,' the source shared.

This was Osbourne's second appearance on a talk show this week. Yesterday she guest-hosted rival show The Talk, filling in for her mother who was out.

'I F***ED UP!': KELLY OSBOURNE APOLOGIZES FOR THE VIEW FLUB

I want to start by saying I ALWAYS take responsibility for my actions. In this particular case I will take responsibility for my poor choice of words but I will not apologize for being a racist as I am NOT. I whole-hearted f****d up today. I don’t want to bullshit anyone with lame excuses. Although, I was stopped mid-sentence by Rosie and couldn’t finish my point I will not let Rosie take responsibility for my words. I should have known better as I was on The View and it was live. I’ve learned a very valuable lesson. It is my hope that this situation will open up a conversation about immigration and the Latin community as a whole. By the way I clean my own f***ing toilets.
