Alright, alright! Matthew McConaughey's millionaire brother Rooster makes his TV debut on Texas reality show

Matthew McConaughey's brother Rooster is making his own showbiz debut. 

Rooster - real name Michael -  stars in new reality show The West Texas Investors Club, which premiered on CNBC on Tuesday.

The brother of the Oscar-winning star is a self-made millionaire in the oil and cattle industries, doles out some Texas truths to wannabe entrepreneurs on the show, described as 'Shark Tank for Real America'.

Rooster and fellow millionaire Butch Gilliam, who made his fortune in pipe sales, fly in entrepreneurs from around the country to West Texas to see what they're made of.

The pair say they are more interested in people than profits, and put the aspiring entrepreneurs through a series of tests to determine if they are someone they can do business with, Texas-style.

For advice, the pair turn to friend Gil Prather, who goes 'undercover' as a driver to secretly get a feel for people's character.

Along the way, Rooster shares his hard-won wisdom about how to spot a real business opportunity. 

'Just because you got an MBA doesn't mean you know s*** about business,' Rooster says of his approach.

'We're looking at the person first, and the business second,' adds Butch in the first episode.

Before the show, Rooster was perhaps best known for naming his children after his favorite drinks. He has two children, son Miller Lyte and daughter Margarita Olympia.

Straight-talking pair Rooster and Butch chomping cigars, guzzle beer and give the budding entrepreneurs some hard Texas truths in the premiere episode.

Rooster previously told Entertainment Weekly his famous brother was welcome to come on the show and pitch a few ideas.

'I don’t know, I have to let him see it first. He might not want nothing to do with it - or he might be crazy about it! Who knows,' said Rooster.

'If he wants to pitch an idea, that’d be fine. He’s got some good ones!

On last night's premiere episode, investor Adam Garfield pitches Rooster and Butch an app that lets people order drinks from their phone.

'It's something we don't know s*** about,' admits candid Rooster of the tech world. 

However, Rooster and Butch are horrified to discover the app is partnered with a non-alcoholic beer.

'I mean come to find out it's non-alcoholic! Good God whose gonna get an app to buy a non-alcoholic beer, they should be giving it away!' says Rooster, holding his own beer.

They're also very concerned by the idea that the app could put friendly local waitresses out of a job.

After a night out at a bar to test the product, they decide to invest $250,000 in the app.

Later, Rooster and Butch are pitched a 'No Contact Pen' to help people punch in ATM codes without having to touch germ-infested keypads. 

However, the deal went downhill when one of the inventors picks Rooster as a Heinken man, prompting him to sputter: 'How dare she say that to me! I named my daggone son Miller Lyte!'

The pair pass on the pen, saying they aren't a fan of fear-based marketing, with Rooster pointing out the $15 a piece invention is basically a fancy pen with a rubber tip.
