One popular YouTuber has earned nearly two million views for a single beauty tutorial in which she reveals how she expertly covers up acne and under-eye circles.
Nicole Matthews, 22, has just 38,600 subscribers on her YouTube channel, but her fans clearly haven't been able to stop sharing this particularly impressive clip that she posted in February.
In the video, the Rocky River, Ohio, resident dots, blends, and brushes her way to a perfectly-clear complexion, effectively wiping out any trace of the acne and uneven skin tone underneath.
Tutorial time: Nicole Matthews shows viewers how to apply make-up to get a clear complexion
Fresh-faced intro: The 22-year-old starts off with a bare face, showing viewers that she has pimples and under-eye circles
The 11-and-a-half minute clip begins with a fully made-up Nicole speaking into the camera. The young woman has bold, filled-in eyebrows, dramatic cat-eye liner, colorful eyeshadow, bronzed cheeks, and Barbie-pink lips.
'We are super zoomed in to my face right now because today we are doing a different kind of video,' she explains. 'I'm going to be doing a talk-through video and it's gonna be all about how to get full-coverage flawless foundation.'
The camera then cuts back to a 'before' shot, in which Nicole isn't wearing an ounce of make-up.
'Today I'm gonna be doing my foundation routine, and as you can see here, I have nothing on my face right now,' she says, drawing attention to the fact that she has a few red pimples on her forehead, cheek, and chin, as well as circles under her eyes. 'This is my bare face.'
With her pink-streaked hair piled on top of her head, she gets right down to business: 'So the first thing that I want to start off with is my Chapstick.'
Applying lip balm creates a barrier between the lips and any make-up that's applied, so products like foundation and concealer won't bleed onto your pout.
Lots of steps: She then begins applying products, starting with Chapstick, Cetaphil, and Benefit primer
Lifelong fan: Nicole says that she has been using MAC Pro Longwear Foundation since she was a senior in high school
Smooth finish: She applies it in globs all over her face, then uses a pink Beauty Blender sponge to blend it in
After swiping on the brand's vanilla milkshake flavor, Nicole holds up a tube of Cetaphil body lotion, which she begins to apply to her face.
'I don't have really problematic skin,' she says, explaining that the body cream works perfectly on her face. 'This one is good because it doesn't break me out. I like this because it's not greasy and it just dries into my skin really fast.
'So once all my moisterizer is on, I like to go in with my [Benefit] Pore-fessional Primer for my face. I've had this for about a year now and I really like it,' she continues, holding up a nearly-empty blue tube.
Nicole says that she's a huge fan of the product because it stays on well but also feels silky and doesn't bother her skin. In fact, she tells viewers, she once wore the primer in 90-degree weather at an outdoor concert festival - and her make-up still stayed put.
She applies it in spots and rubs it in, noting that women emulating her routine should pay special attention while applying the product under their eyes and around their mouths to cover up any fine lines.
Most shared: The fascinating tutorial has earned nearly two million views - even though Nicole has under 40,000 subscribers
Optional step: Next, Nicole paints on thicker eyebrows - which she notes isn't necessary, but she personally likes to do her brows before applying concealer
Covering up: She then applies MAC concealer under eyes and to spots on the rest of her face
Next, she holds up a bottle of MAC foundation, saying: 'This foundation is my favorite. It is the Pro Longwear Foundation, and I'm at NW20 right now, and this is amazing. I've been using it pretty much ever since my senior year of high school.'
She applies it to her face in blotches on her forehead, cheeks, nose, chin, and upper lip, then smooths and blends the pigment out with a damp pink Beauty Blender sponge. While her viewers might think $20 seems like a lot for a make-up sponge, she insists that this one is really worth it, using the egg-shaped tool to slowly spread out the foundation.
After fast-forwarding through her eyebrow application - which involves dark powder, an angled brush, and more foundation around the brows' outline - Nicole picks up MAC Pro Longwear Concealer in NW 15.
'I got this in a lighter shade than my actual foundation because I like the highlighting effect under your eyes,' she says. 'So I use one pump and I just put it on my hand... And I just, like, to use my finger, and I go in under my eyes, and I go kind of in a triangular shape.'
The finishing touches: Nicole uses Anastasia Beverly Hills' Contour Kit for one of her final foundation steps
What's in her toolbox? She uses several brushes to blend the make-up evenly all over her face
Voila! Finally, Nicole reveals what she looks like after adding eye make-up, lipstick, and blush
She also applies a bit of concealer to her cupid's bow above her lips, her nose, and her forehead before picking up her Anastasia Beverly Hills Contour Kit.
'This is awesome because it comes with [different] shades,' she says. Using a MAC 109 brush to blend, she applies two of the contouring kit colors to her face. She also uses a Sigma brush to blend in MAC Studio Careblend powder all over her face.
'OK, so now I'm just gonna go in and do my contour, blush, highlighting, and basically the rest of my face,' she concludes, showing off the totally clear, even-toned skin she paints on before applying the rest of her make-up.
The final shot shows Nicole with her whole face made up again - a truly impressive transformation that has earned her over 1,882,000 views to date and over 5,100 comments.
