Jesse Metcalfe has splashed out $2.975 million on a new mansion in West Hollywood.

The actor has dropped the cash to buy a stunning new home in the celeb-favored Birds Streets neighbourhood right above the Sunset Strip, according to TMZ.

Jesse, 36, made the wise property investment after purchasing the home for $175,000 under the asking price.

Jesse will be the perfect host for summer parties as the plush pad also has a pool, spa and an outdoor kitchen.

His girlfriend of five years, Cara Santana, is also reported to be on the deed for the home.

Cara was seen out with a friend in Los Angeles on Monday as she enjoyed lunch with a friend in a grey top and denim shorts.

Cara recently released The Glam App which is described as beauty on demand for the busy woman and brings service to one's doorstep - ranging from a blow dry, to makeup application, to a manicure.

The couple last year denied that they were engaged, but Jesse said on the Kyle And Jackie O Breakfast Show on KIIS 1065 that he hopes that will happen in the future.

'It seems to be going in that direction, but not yet,' he said.

Jesse, who is probably best known for his role as Eva Longoria's toyboy on Desperate Housewives, can next be seen in the drama Destined that is in post-production.

His latest film, Dead Rising Watchtower, is has just been released on Digital Platforms in the UK and Australia.
