I don't wanna miss a thing! Steven Tyler texts Lenny Kravitz after 'penisgate'... complaining that he never got to see it before
Steven Tyler really doesn't want to miss a thing.
The Aerosmith frontman texted Lenny Kravitz immediately after his 'penisgate' wardrobe malfunction on Monday night complaining that he was unaware of the nature of the beast.
Kravitz gave his Swedish audience more than what they bargained for when his leather trousers split open as he was squatting down at the front of the stage.
Whoops! Lenny Kravitz inadvertently revealed himself as his leather trousers split open over his crotch during a performance at Gronda Lund in Stockholm, Sweden on Monday night... while also going underwear-free
It immediately became apparent that the 51-year-old rocker does not bother with underwear, as he exposed himself for all to see.
On Tuesday, the Fly Away singer posted a screengrab of a text he received from his 67-year-old fellow rocker, who appeared to be both shocked and dismayed at the same time.
'Dude...No underwear and pierced...F*** me.. You never showed me that s***,' Tyler wrote.
Kravitz posted shared the picture on Instagram without comment, save for the single hashtag: '#penisgate'.
Lenny's got a gun: The following day he shared a text he had received immediately after the show from Steven Tyler
Sharing is caring: The Aerosmith frontman, pictured in LA in June, seemed upset that Kravitz had never told him about his piercings, or his lack of underwear
The music icon was entertaining the heaving crowds at Gröna Lund in Stockholm as part of his current Strut World Tour when the fateful rip occurred.
Fully exposing himself while crouching with his legs open, the going-commando star initially seemed unaware that he was on full show to the audience, unprotected from the sanctity of a pair of boxer shorts.
It soon became clear to the American Woman hitmaker that something had gone awry in his nether-region, though, as he quickly left the stage for a few minutes.
The guitar-wielding musician then returned after having had a change of clothing, sporting a brand new and un-ripped pair of leather bottoms so he could continue the rest of his show fully covered.
Energetic: The 51-year-old cut a typically youthful figure as he gave a rip-roaring show, before crouching down and exposing himself to the crowd
No underpants! The backing dancers appeared unaware as Lenny's nether-regions were on show, before he quickly exited the stage to change his trousers
All's well: According to an audience member at the show, Lenny disappeared for a few minutes to change his pants
According to Swedish website The Local, a producer for the show had taken to the stage to alert the screaming audience that there had been some issues on the stage.
Speaking to local paper Expressen, an member of the audience explained what had happened.
'The producer stepped up and said that they had 'some problems on stage'. A bit later Kravitz came out wearing other trousers. He said "sorry, I ripped my trousers",' the fan said.
'It was insane, I killed myself laughing. And then I called my mum who was there at the show as well. Her reaction was the same and she almost killed herself laughing too,' she continued, revealing it was all taken in jest.
Carrying on regardless: Clearly unfazed by the embarrassing incident, the rock icon continued on with the rest of his show with a smile on his face
Rocking out: Lenny is currently in the midst of his Strut World Tour
Ever the consummate performer, though, Lenny carried on with his gig, performing his greatest hits as he continued his globe-trotting tour, in line with his latest album, Strut.
The handsome bearded star kept it simple for his on-stage look, pairing those tricky leather pants with a classic black t-shirt, a statement necklace and a denim jacket.
And, as ever, the cooler-than-cucumber star rocked a pair of black shades for the entirety of his set.
After the gig, which was clearly otherwise successful, Lenny thanked his Swedish fans for their support on his Twitter page.
He wrote to his 4.91m followers: 'Thank you Stockholm! #StrutTour.'
Eye-catching style: Earlier in the day, the Fly Away hitmaker had exited his hotel in the Swedish capital sporting a bright and cheerful look
'Thank you Stockholm!' The star later took to his Twitter page to thank the fans for their support, which was more than what the pants gave him
