Maternal bond! Doting mother Jennifer Garner spends quality time with youngest child Samuel as they step out for breakfast

Work commitments came a distant second to maternal responsibilities on Tuesday afternoon as Jennifer Garner stepped out with the youngest of her three children in Los Angeles.

The 43-year-old actress was joined by son Samuel, two, for a trip to a local café in Santa Monica, where they enjoyed breakfast before making their way home.

Jennifer looked casual in a breezy black blouse and matching cropped trousers as she walked hand in hand with the infant – her youngest child with Oscar-winning husband Ben Affleck.

The statuesque star completed her look with a pair of simple nude flats, while the blue Chanel handbag slung across her shoulders gave the look a designer flourish.

Seemingly delighted for much of their outing, Samuel looked adorable in a raffish beanie hat as he held his famous mother’s hand while wielding a paper sword.

Missing from the outing was Ben, 42, her husband of 10 years, their eight-year-old daughter Violet and six-year-old daughter Seraphina.

Run errands in style with Jennifer's quilted wallet

A Chanel bag instantly conveys a sense of sophistication, a classic accessory that could seamlessly transition from day to night.

While shopping at the farmer's market, Jennifer Garner had one slung to the side of her hip. A delectable blue quilted Chanel chain wallet. As she kept it casual with plaid shirt and skinny jeans, her wallet is instantly recognizable as the quilted leather is a Chanel signature that would never go out of fashion.

The wallet comes with a chain that could be worn cross body, allowing for hands-free activities. Invented by Coco Chanel in the 1920s, the chain strap was born out of practicality.

We found a vintage version in sea foam green lambskin that is absolutely drool-worthy. But if the price tag is a little off-putting, there are other quilted wallets that does the same job. DKNY, Sissy, Vans and Mellow World cost a fraction of the Chanel. Whether worn crossbody or as a clutch, these quilted wallets look just as handsome grocery shopping or at a gala dinner.
