Stop, in the name of love!

Looks like wedding bells are a real possibility on Modern Family this upcoming season - but not if Claire and Haley Dunphy have anything to do with it.

Julie Bowen and Sarah Hyland, who play mother daughter duo Clair and Haley respectively - were spotted filming in Santa Monica, California, on Tuesday giving fans a sneak peek of Season 7.

On Tuesday, the pair were seen sneaking around the park near Santa Monica Pier and while kooky antics for these two are nothing new, looks like they were playing for keeps this time.

The reason for their undercover stalking - Adam DeVine, who plays manny (male nanny) Andy Bailey on the show.

At the end of last season, Andy and Haley's love hate relationship seemed to have gotten over the hate part and now he is ready to propose.

Only problem is, it is not Haley that the manny is getting down on one knee for hence her joining forces with her mom to try to stop it or, at the very least, throw a spanner in the works.

On Tuesday, it seems Claire - played by Julie - was spanner-free so turned to throwing her keys at the would-be betrothed pair.

While trying to interrupt the course of love is usually a bad thing, when these two ladies do it, it certainly looks hilarious.

Both actresses were extraordinarily animated as they tried to creep around and keep a very low profile behind an unusually shaped tree.

While they look hilarious, they also looked good at the same time.

For the day of filming, Julie was dressed in a abstract snakeskin print dress that was cinched in at the waist with a black leather belt with gold buckle.

The 45-year-old star's hair was styled in soft curls and her look further accessorized with suede pumps.

Her 24-year-old co-star meanwhile was dressed in a pair of tight black pants with a soft sheer layered dusty pink tank and a pair of brown suede boots.

Whether they stop the proposal and Haley wins the manny's heart back will all be revealed when Modern Family returns to ABC on September 23.
