And James Packer missed one of Mariah Carey's milestone moments on Wednesday.

The billionaire casino mogul was noticeably absent when the pop star was given a star on the Hollywood Walk Of Fame in Los Angeles on Wednesday.

However, his best pal and RatPac business partner Brett Ratner was on hand to help her celebrate.

Both Mariah and James have currently been busy working, with the Butterfly diva performing in her Las Vegas residency, and James in Sydney for a small business conference.

However, over the weekend the 47-year-old caught up with his ex-Jodhi Meares.

While the pair decided to go their separate ways just three years after tying the knot in an extraordinarily lavish $10 million ceremony in 1999, they have remained the friendliest of exes.

James looked just like he did in the early days of his marriage as he beamed and wrapped his arm around Meares to attend a charity event in Sydney last Saturday evening.

Meares, 44, who recently very publicly ended her engagement with former Noiseworks rocker Jon Stevens following an alleged domestic dispute, was looking better than ever on the occasion in a form-fitting blue frock.

Fresh from a holiday in the Mediterranean, the model-turned-fashion designer displayed a glowing tan through sheer cut-outs built into the bust, waist and hem of the sleek design.

News of James and Mariah romance emerged last month when the unlikely lovers were spotted strolling the streets of Capri, Italy, hand-in-hand and the Love Takes Time hitmaker joining James on his luxury super yacht the Arctic P to sail around the Mediterranean.

Rocco wore a crisp white shirt and chinos while his sister sported a white summer dress and matching bow in her hair.

Lee Daniels was also present to celebrate Mariah, even coming onstage to offer a few laudatory words.

And the chairman and CEO of Epic Records, L.A. Reid, took the stage with Mariah to help honour the star.

The night before Mariah celebrated the milestone with Ratner, rapper French Montana, and her children with a party a plush Malibu estate.
