But Meryl Streep's eldest daughter Mamie Gummer believes she deserves a little more recognition for her supreme acting skills.
The 32-year-old, who stars alongside her mother in their new movie Ricki And The Flash, has insisted that her debut acting role in the 1986 movie Heartburn required real talent.

Mamie revealed her pain as she chatted with US chat show host Jimmy Fallon on The Tonight Show on Tuesday night.
She held herself with perfect poise as she laughed about her acting debut alongside her mother Meryl in the 1986 movie Heartburn.
In the movie Mamie sits on Meryl's lap aboard a plane and together they sing Itsy Bitsy Spider.

Joking about her acting promise back then, she said: 'I guess I’ve been selling myself short a little bit in terms of my performance in that film because I thought I was just a baby and I was just there.
'But actually I had to make some choices and perform a little bit because I was older, I was 20 months playing a one year old,' she continued.
Jimmy quizzed her on whether she wrote and starred in her own plays when she was growing up, to which she replied: 'Yes, constantly, and the shows themselves were endless.
'They were really long and anytime anyone tried to get up and leave id say, "It's not over!".

Fallon then introduced the sketch, Things N.W.A. Does Not Stand For in which he and Ice Cube listed a handful of phrases that are not the meaning behind the rap group’s name.
The things that N.W.A. does not stand for includes, 'Nine White Accountants', 'Nickelback Was Awesome' and 'No Winking Allowed'.
