Tents in the trees: The hanging canopies that put an end to perils of creepy crawlies
- Tentsile has the ultimate solution for avoiding bumpy ground conditions, bugs and other land predators
- Conceived of as a treehouse that you can take anywhere, their suspended tents offer comfort and fantastic views
- Cmpany's latest offerings include: a small hammock, a two-layer removable roof model and a communal tent for six
For those who want to go camping, but are keen to avoid the creepy crawlies on the ground, Tentsile Tree Tents offer the ultimate solution.
Initially conceived of as a treehouse that you can take anywhere, these suspended tents, which use tension and three anchor points to stay elevated, are a unique way to experience the great outdoors in style.
No matter the ground conditions of your campsite, you'll be able to sleep in unparralleled comfort - and take in some seriously spectacular views.
Although the company has been around since 2012, they've recently unveiled some of their newer offerings, such as a small hammock for three, a two-layer model with removable roof and a six-person communal mega-tent.
The brainchild of designers Alex Shirley-Smith and Kirk Kirchev, the response to their revolutionary camping gear has been overwhelming - and they've since opened their own factory and even picked up an ISPO design award in the process.
The hammock starts at $250 (or about £160), while more complex models could run as high as $1,450 (£930).

For campers who are keen to avoid the bumpy ground, dewy grass and other creepy crawlies, Tenstile suspended tents are for you

Although the company has been around since 2012, Tentsile has recently unveiled their newer models, like this hammock for three

Designed to be suspended in the air, all tents come with all instruments and instructions you need to keep yourself elevated

Experiencing the great outdoors in style may cost you though - some of the more complex designs can run up to $1,450 (£930)

Because they can be suspended anywhere, you aren't limited in your camping terrain, and can pitch up on a beach overlooking the ocean

Several models come with a fully-enclosed insect mesh roof (with opening doors) and removable rainfly sheets to take in a starry night

The tents were designed by Alex Shirley-Smith and Kirk Kirchev, who have since opened their own factory to handle demand

With the standard Vista tent model, hammocks can be added to create extra levels - acting like a super-large multi-storey bunk bed

A second insect mesh layer hangs below the tent itself, acting as a dry shelf for storage of personal belongings or for drying wet items
