Grieving Queen Letizia sparks fears over her health after revealing frighteningly skinny arms during a gala dinner in Palma
- Letizia, 42, showed off a pair of sinewy arms in a sleeveless top last night
- Was at a gala dinner with husband Felipe, 47, in Mallorcan capital Palma
- The Spanish royals are spending August on the island with their daughters

- Letizia has sparked headlines about her slender figure in the past
Spain's Queen Letizia raised eyebrows last night after attending a gala dinner in a sleeveless top that revealed a pair of very sinewy arms.
The 42-year-old, who is holidaying in Mallorca, wore the top for a dinner at La Almudaina Palace in Palma and was joined for the evening by husband King Felipe and mother-in-law Queen Sofia.
But while the royal party was the centre of attention, Letizia attracted more than her fair share of glances thanks to the revealing top.
Slender: Queen Letizia of Spain showed off a pair of sinewy arms during a gala dinner in Palma last night
This is not the first time that the royal, who has always been slender, has attracted attention because of her increasingly slender figure.
In May, her frame sparked 'scary skinny' headlines after a sharp set of shoulder blades and a prominent collarbone were revealed by a strapless cocktail dress during a gala dinner in Honduran capital Tegucigalpa.
A month later, news of her appointment as a UN Special Ambassador for Nutrition was greeted with dismay by critics - again because of her slender frame.
Letizia, who was crowned Queen of Spain just over a year ago, has become increasingly slender over the last 12 months - perhaps as a result of her increasingly busy schedule.
Not the first time: Letizia, who is grieving following her grandfather's death, has become increasingly slim
Family affair: She was joined last night by mother-in-law Queen Sofia (left) and husband King Felipe
Official: Last night's dinner, held for the Mallorcan authorities, was one of a number of official engagements
Be a power dresser in Queen Letizia's tailored trousers by Hugo Boss
As a royal, Queen Letizia has found a love of tailoring with a power woman edge.
So we weren’t surprised to see her wowing in yet another pair of slick trousers which she wore with a ruffle black top and strappy sandals for an elegant finish, and they’re by one of her favorite designers, Hugo Boss.
Queen Letizia flits between her go-to threadmakers Felipe Varela and Hugo Boss when it comes to dressing up, but when it comes to a slicker look with an androgynous touch, she leans towards Boss.
So these trousers are most definitely the way to go in terms of investing in some day-to-night pants with a timeless aesthetic, and they’ll pretty much last a lifetime if you take care of them.

She and her husband have also had to weather a number of storms, among them the revelation that Felipe's Infanta Cristina would have to stand trial for fraud last December and the emergence of a new book that revealed former King Juan-Carlos had been enjoying an affair with a much younger German aristocrat.
Letizia has also been left grief stricken by the death of her grandfather, Francisco Rocasolano Camacho, on the 25th July.
Despite the heartbreak, last night saw the mother-of-two put on a brave face and smile wanly for photos and guests to the Almudaina Palace.
Holiday: The Spanish royals are spending the month in Mallorca but will still carry out some engagements
All smiles: Letizia beams as she chats to a man with a quirky purple mohican and a rainbow fan
Staying put: Letizia and her family arrived in Mallorca last weekend and are staying at their villa Son Vent
She will now have at least a month to recuperate, with Felipe and Letizia staying at their Mallorcan holiday home Son Vent, which sits in the grounds of the Marivent Palace, until the end of August.
Although the Spanish royal's summer holiday usually includes a number of official engagements, most of the time spent on the island is private.
Last year's visit, which came shortly after Felipe was crowned, was unusually busy with the royals taking part in a string of engagements, among them a trip to a new visitor centre in the Tramuntana Mountains.
This year's trip is expected to be quieter, with no visitors expected.
In previous years, the Spanish royals have entertained blue-blooded guests from around the world on the island, including the Prince of Wales and Princess Diana.
