But it hasn't stopped comedienne Sarah Silverman from getting hands on with some of her siblings offspring.

The 44-year-old actress went for a stroll n New York with her sister Jodyne on Wednesday, and was very much the doting aunt.

Dressed in a black pencil skirt and pale blue T-shirt, the funny girl teamed her look with a pair of black adidas trainers.

She had her dark locks pulled back in a ponytail and wore a cap.

Sarah kept her legs bare and carried a rucksack on her back.

Power walk; The funny girl took time to get a caffeine fix her earbuds in her ears

Wearing a pair of dark glasses she was out taking a stroll with her sister Jodyne, and her young baby.

Sarah helped to push the pram as they perambulated around the New York city streets.

She appeared very much the doting aunt as she chatted and talked with her sister.

The pair also picked up the speed and did a spot of power walking while they were out in the Big Apple.

Sarah has been very open about not having children of her own, due to suffering from depression.

At one point her illness led to her developing an addiction to Xanax.

She credited her subsequent emotional health to the prescription drug Zoloft, which she has been taking since her mid-twenties.

The oft-controversial Sarah found herself in the news again last week after anti-abortion group Live Action compared her to a Nazi for defending Planned Parenthood.

Sarah posted on Twitter on July 27: 'Abortion is still legal in the great U.S of A. It would be insane not to use fetal tissue 4 science & education in such cases. #StandwithPP'

Live Action - which recently posted undercover videos edited to make it look like Planned Parenthood doctors were selling fetal tissue for profit - responded that 'the Nazis really did use the same logic' as Sarah.

On a lighter note, Sarah's boyfriend, actor Michael Sheen, 46, revealed last week that they had been rather disappointed by the outcome of the latest season of The Bachelorette.

'I don't want to be negative about anyone, but things didn't go the way we were hoping,' Michael told Us Weekly, referring to Caitlyn Bristowe's choice of Shawn Booth.

He also indicated that 'Tony the healer' was the best choice for the next Bachelor.

Sarah and Michael have been dating since January 2014, while the Emmy-winning actress previously was paired with Jimmy Kimmel, Alex Sulkin, and Kyle Dunnigan.
