  • Brand new dating app connects flight crew on layover in foreign cities
  • Developed by a pilot, Maxence Boussier, after realising a 'need' for it
  • Ensures that flight crew won't be stuck with those they arrived with
  • Users swipe right to 'like' and those who match will then be able to chat

For pilots or flight attendants looking to find love in the skies, this app is for you.

Inspired by the likes of Tinder, Hinge and OKCupid, CrewMe is a brand new dating app - catering to flight crew on layover in foreign locales.

The innovative dating service connects airline crew and allows them to network anywhere in the world.

CrewMe was founded by a pilot, Maxence Boussier, and launched only last week - but already has seen hundreds of downloads.

According to Conde Nast Traveler India, Boussier developed the app after realising a need for crew of different airlines to connect.

He explains that it will help people who are otherwise stranded in between flights to meet up, go for drinks, and explore the city.

Instead of being stuck with the same flight crew you arrived with, individuals can now strike out on their own and meet up with peers from other airlines.

Similar to Tinder, users will be able to swipe right if they are interested in someone's profile, which will then allow those who match to chat

So, how does it work? Using GPS locators, the app will select those who are nearby, displaying their name and airline.

From there, users will be able to swipe left if they're not interested or right if they are.

If both users swipe right, they'll be able to chat and make plans to meet up.

Currently, the app is free to download and only available on Apple devices. However, it's set to be released on Android later this year.

For $3.99 (or about £2.57), users can upgrade to the premium version, which will notify you whenever someone likes your profile.
